by Intuit Updated 1 year ago

Use more than one vehicle for your business? Now you can track miles and match expenses for each vehicle in QuickBooks Self-Employed, which helps you get the max deduction and keep your books organized for tax season.

If you export your business info to TurboTax, it will use your info to help you choose the best option: the standard mileage deduction or actual expense deductions.

Add vehicles to track

You can add all the vehicles you use for work to track your mileage and expenses.

  1. Go to Miles.
  2. Select Manage vehicles.
  3. Select Add vehicle when the side panel appears.
  4. Add all the vehicles you use for work.
  5. Select Save.

  1. Go to Transactions. Vehicle transactions that don't have a vehicle assigned yet are labeled Unassigned.
  2. Select a transaction that is a vehicle expense. The transaction will have a Vehicle dropdown in the expanded view.
  3. From the Vehicle dropdown, choose a vehicle.
  4. Select Save.

If you want to assign transactions in bulk:

  1. Go to Transactions.
  2. Select the checkbox for each transaction you want to assign to a vehicle.
  3. Select the vehicle icon Screen Shot 2022-09-06 at 5.43.20 PM.png.
