We update QuickBooks regularly to give you a better experience and fix issues. These release notes explain what's new and improved.

This notice is being provided as a convenience for our customers and isn’t intended to supplement, modify, or extend the Intuit software license agreement between Intuit and the customer for any Intuit product or service.

Release 10 (R10) 3/8/23

American Express IDX	Add support for American Express IDX connections
Export to QuickBooks Online	Improved export to QuickBooks Online
Calendar and Reminders	Updated macOS Calendar and Reminders support for macOS version 12 (Monterey) and macOS version 13 (Ventura).
Settings	Fixed a problem where the Forward/Backward buttons in Settings did not correctly change the window title.
Find	Fixed a problem where fields in the old Find window were not appearing correctly on Mac OS Monterey.
Download Transactions	• Fixed a problem where attempts to modify the Payee in Download Transactions would sometimes not work correctly. • Fixed a problem where the tabbing was not working correctly in DLT window when class tracking is enabled. • Fixed a problem in DLT window where add transaction behavior can be difficult after changing a renaming rule. • Fixed a problem where the payee combo box in DLT window would sometimes not get populated correctly.
Search in register	Fixed a problem where typing in the search field in a register was not accepting keyboard input correctly.

Release 9 (R9) 12/15/22

1099/1096 tax forms	Updated 1099/1096 Tax layouts for 2022 Tax Year.
My TIme	Fixed an issue where time activities created with My Time are not imported into the correct year in QuickBooks.
Statement Charges	Fixed an issue where the keyboard focus was sometimes initially incorrect in Enter Statement Charges.
File Sharing	Fixed an issue that prevented large company files from being shared in the QuickBooks Server app.

Auto Fill	Fixed an issue where combo box auto-fill behavior was not working correctly.

Release 8.3 (R8.3) 11/15/22

Upgraded Files	Fixed an issue where company files upgraded with QuickBooks Mac 2020 R15 and 2021 R11 would not open in QuickBooks Mac Plus 2022.

Release 8.2 (R8.2) 11/3/22

Upgraded files	Fixed an issue where upgraded files could sometimes not re-open after saving.

Release 8.1 (R8.1) 10/31/22

Merchant Services	Fixed an issue with a Merchant Services alert that appeared after opening the Sample Product file.
Multi User Mode	Fixed an issue where the Server app would unexpectedly quit when a client app tried to connect to a shared file.

Release 8 (R8) 10/26/22

System Requirements	Added support for macOS v13 Ventura
Bank Feeds	Fixed an issue that would cause some Bank of America customers to see the error "One or more of you accounts had a problem downloading your transactions" when setting up Bank Feeds.
Company Snapshot	Fixed an issue that caused only the Admin to be able to see the Company Snapshot widgets.

Release 7 (R7) July 2022

Sending emails with Outlook	Sending forms with certain versions of Outlook no longer fails.
Downloaded Transactions	Fixed a crash that could sometimes occur using the Downloaded Transactions window.
Printing Estimate Envelopes	Fixed a problem where the "Inactive" stamp was printing on Estimate envelopes
Payroll Item Report	Fixed a problem where the Payroll Item report filter was not showing any payroll items.
Modern Transfer Funds	Added Modern Transfer Funds topic to What's New in QuickBooks in Help.
Bank of America IDX	Added support for Bank of America IDX connectivity
Citi IDX	Added support for Citi IDX connectivity
Photo Sync tool tip	Added a help tool tip to Photo Sync in Users & Groups permissions for Photo Sync access.

Release 6 (R6) 6/11/22

Attachment Center	Fixed a crash that would occur when trying to delete an attachment from the Attachment Center.
IIF file import	Fixed a crash that would sometimes occur while importing an IIF file that contains items with long names
Email	Fixed a crash that would sometimes occur when emailing a transaction using Gmail that has no text in the body of the template.
Reports	• Fixed an issue that caused the Total Mileage to not calculate on the Mileage by Vehicle Detail Report. • Fixed a problem where Report format preferences were getting lost when printing to PDF.
Data Entry	Fixed a crash that could sometimes occur applying a discount to a received payment.
My Time	Fixed an issue that prevented a user from downloading My Time after installing the R5 update.

Release 5.2 (R5.2) 5/15/22

Merchant Services	Fixed a problem where display of the Record Merchant Service Deposit window was showing a connection error.

Release 5 (R5) March 2022

What's important about Release 5?

Attachments	Attachment window closes properly in Company Settings, Customer Center, and Reconcile.
IIF import	IIF file from Intuit Payroll correctly imports. Sales tax codes import correctly. File data validates correctly and imports.
Customer Center	Menu option in customer center available to convert an automatic group to a manual group. Customer center retains selection status of an email address.
Email	Email address can be taken out of invoice form. Duplicate email address no longer appear for e-invoice. Changes to email addresses save correctly for e-invoice. Changes save correctly for email addresses for statement reminders to email. One-time email addresses remain on forms before transmission or closure. Changes no longer display error.
Transactions	Application error no longer occurs after statement template change in statement reminders. Transfer funds form supports class tracking and displays account details and cleared accounts. New form can also duplicate previous transfer fund transaction and can open transaction journal.
Intuit Account	Ellipsis indicate long account names in preferences. Admins able to restrict/remove access with a security reset for a company file. Invite Intuit Account users to QuickBooks Desktop for Mac
Online banking	Resolves an issue where two online accounts from the same back could incorrectly match to a single account in QuickBooks.
Receipt management	New feature allows sync to a shared photo album.
Print	Reminders list aligns correctly. Warning message notifies when two sided is set for check printing.
User Interface	More access to help content within Intuit Accounts and Photo Sync preferences. Product Info window available from Help menu.
Chart of Accounts	Non-posting accounts can't be made manually.
Payments	Payment preferences retain disconnect state after application closed and reopened.

Release 4.1(R4.1) Janualry 2022

What’s important about Release 4.1?

1099/1096	• Updated 1099-NEC process with link to IRS 2021 instructions. • Fixed an issue where Tax1099 uploads could fail due to invalid country code.
QBO export	The Export to QuickBooks Online wizard completes the operation.

What's important about Release 4?

Reconcile	You can sort on multiple columns in reconciliation.
1099/1096	1099 Preference ready for tax year 2021.
Centers	New vendor shows as selected after its creation.
Email	• Tab works correctly when you move through email contacts in email forms. •Custom email addresses copy from previous version after file upgrade. •When you make a change in email forms, you only need to save changes once. •Application error less likely to happen when you create multiple statement email drafts.
E-statements	• You can use multiple email addresses for e-statements. • Application error less likely to happen when you use the reconcile payments service deposit. • E-statements link back to a customer. • Application error less likely to happen when you reconcile payments within a merchant service deposit.
Receipt Management	Receipt management accessible after license registration.
Reports	Custom transaction detail report shows all parts of a transaction (debit/credit).

What's important about Release 3?

Attachments	• Improved scroll performance in the Attachment Center even with plenty of attachments. • Fixed a problem where the Attachment pop-up stays open even when it shouldn't.
Backup	• Fixed a problem where QuickBooks sometimes crashes while doing a backup. • Fixed a problem where backups would sometimes not complete.
Customer Groups	• Enhanced Customer Group filtering to search on Customer and Job. • Fixed a problem where the Ship To filter isn’t showing any customers with multiple Ship To addresses.
Email	• Fixed a problem where there are sometimes duplicate email addresses in the Email Forms window. • Fixed a usability issue with selecting popover buttons in the Emails Forms window. • Fixed a problem where the content of emails sent through Gmail were getting line breaks.
Export	Fixed a problem where company files with a forward slash in the name wouldn't export to QuickBooks Desktop for Windows.
General	• Fixed a problem where .qb2022 company files don't show the correct file icon in Finder. • Require existing users to review the updated End User License Agreement in R3. • Fixed a problem where users can create a company file with characters not compatible with the operating system. • Fixed a problem where users can create a company file with invalid characters not compatible with QuickBooks.
Lists	• Fixed a problem where the user couldn’t merge Class List items. • Fixed a problem where 'Flat View' and 'Hierarchical View' contextual menus aren’t available in lists on macOS Monterey.
Multi-user	• Fixed a problem where the Last Backup icon and location pop-up were missing from QuickBooks Server. • Fixed the sudden freeze that sometimes happens when you turn on multi-user in the QuickBooks Server. • Fixed a crash that sometimes happens when you sign in to a multi-user shared file.
One Intuit ID	• Fixed a problem where you’re forced to quit QuickBooks after you fail to sign in to One Intuit ID. • Fixed a crash that sometimes happens after you sign in with One Intuit ID.
Online Invoice	Fixed a problem where multi-user disconnections could happen while using the Record Merchant Service Deposit window.
Registers	• Enhanced 'Show in Register' button to clear any search terms used in the register. • Added an up and down arrow icons in the register sort options.
Reminders	Fixed a crash that sometimes happens while you save a statement reminder.
Reports	• Fixed a problem where the quantity values were sometimes blank on the 'Purchases by Item Summary' report. • Fixed a problem where resizing columns doesn’t always work. • Updated the 'Purchases by Item Summary' report to show the correct average price totals. • Fixed a problem where reports don’t show the whole percentage when it has a decimal value.
Toolbar	• Fixed a problem where the Intuit Account icon was missing from the customized toolbar after a file upgrade. • Fixed a problem where the Home Page icon was missing from the customized toolbar after a file upgrade.
Transactions	Fixed a crash that sometimes happens when closing a tabbed Transfer Funds window.
User Interface	Fixed a problem where the One Intuit ID window would display taller on smaller displays.
Utilities	Fixed a verify problem causing “Verify Item History: Quantity-on-hand doesn't match” results.

What’s important about Release 2?

Email	• Updated the Email Forms window to remember the enabled/disabled state of email addresses. • Email addresses can now be deleted from the multiple email contacts popover in Email Forms. • Corrected tabbing behavior of moving through email contacts in the Email Forms window. • Updated error handling in Email Forms when you enter invalid email addresses. • Fixed a crash that could sometimes occur when selecting an email in the Email Forms window. • Fixed a crash that could sometimes occur when selecting or opening an invoice from the Email Forms window.
Receipts Manager	• Corrected the color of the Unmatch button in Receipt Management. • Fixed a crash that could sometimes occur when double-clicking on a matched item in Receipt Management. • Fixed a crash that could sometimes occur when double-clicking on a matched item in Receipt Management.
Reports	• Enabled Collapse Rows in Reporting as the default behavior. • Fixed a problem where the Balance Sheet by Class report would draw incorrectly when tagged windows are enabled.
Layout Designer	Updated the Status Stamp button title in Layout Designer settings to “Print Status Stamp."
Preferences	Added a Show in Finder button to the Attachment panel in Preferences.
Open File	Fixed a crash that could sometimes occur while working on a Mac with a QuickBooks company file login window open.
My Time	Fixed a problem where the Balance Sheet by Class report would draw incorrectly when tabbed windows are enabled.
UI	Corrected the stamp displayed in a voided general journal entry.
Toolbar	Updated the Intuit Account toolbar icon.
Help	Updated help content for customer and vendor payment methods.
Misc	Updated feature videos in “What’s New” window.
