they say app is no more available since April 2021
Let me share a few information as to why we discontinued the QuickBooks app, jasi151.
In as much as we'd like you to give the best experience, we've found out some limitations that may hinder or give you inconvenience when using the app. That's why we decided to discontinue and invest in other functionality that matters to you. You'll want to use the web browser to work with QuickBooks Online. But if your browser still supports the app, you can continue to use it. The same goes if you're using a mobile app.
For more product updates and to stay current with what's new, consider reading our QuickBooks Blog. Here's an article so you'll know what computer and browser you need when using the web: System requirements for QuickBooks Online, Accountant, and QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Hi,
Is there an updated version as when I click the link it states that there will be no update from April 2021? I cannot download the app from google play or app store. Help please? Thanks.
Thank you for joining this thread to share your concerns, @LorraineD2023. Let me share some insights about this QuickBooks App.
As shared by my colleague MariaSoledadG above, QuickBooks Online Windows and Mac desktop apps are no longer supported as of April 20, 2021. Thus, it's the reason why you're unable to download it from your google play or app store.
In the meantime, we recommend accessing QBO through your preferred browser by signing in at qbo.intuit.com, or you might consider downloading our QuickBooks Online mobile app. For a detailed step-by-step process, please check out this article: How to download the QuickBooks Online mobile app.
We appreciate your trust in QuickBooks to meet your accounting needs. We value your business and are committed to ensuring your success with our products and services.

There is no link to this address to download the app, just a video on how to use it
Hi there, @giannibyte.
I want to ensure you'll download and use the QuickBooks Online desktop app for Windows.
To download the app for QuickBooks Online (QBO), you'll need to click on the Download Now button in this link: Easier access to QuickBooks Online. Then, run QuickBooks-Setup.exe to get started.
If you want to add a shortcut or icon to your desktop for your QBO app in the future, check out this article for more information: Create a desktop shortcut for QuickBooks Online.
Keep me posted on how things go once you've tried the steps. I'd be waiting for your response.
I will repeat what others have said - so maybe the moderator will actually try the solutions they are providing before wasting everyone's time with solutions that DON'T WORK.
These various links either go to QBO hype pages or download executable files that won't open.
I have moved to a different laptop from the original download of the app for windows desktop, when i converted from quickbooks desktop but they only give you ONE SHOT at installing the app... yet, the magic of the online version is to be able to use QBk on any machine. Come on guys - LISTEN TO US. When i follow the latest link sent i was able to download something that spins my wheels and gives me a message about being unable to connect.
Oh wait - that right - i can ask for help and wait for a call back for someone that doesn't know the answer to this SIMPLE QUESTION - where is the GOOD Link to add the app to ANY MACHINE i use QBO with?
This is not what we want you to feel, @KenDoll. I can see how you would want to download the QuickBooks Online Windows and Mac desktop app and have a way to help you achieve that.
Let me share some pieces of information first.
The QuickBooks Online (QBO) desktop app is only available to QBO Advanced and Accountant versions with Windows 64-bit computers. This means that QBO Simple Start, Essentials, and Plus don't have the option to download. This app makes it convenient to access your company file(s).
If you have the mentioned requirements, here's how you can download it:
For more information about this process, feel free to refer to this article: Download and use the QuickBooks Online desktop app.
When successfully installed, you can now switch to another company without signing out. You can also open a new tab for each company file. You can access accounts in the app that have a QuickBooks Online subscription.
Moreover, I also encourage you to visit our QuickBooks Blog website for more product enhancements and updates.

after clicking on the link we don't get any prompts for download. Could you please look into it and update the link?

You must be able to download the application through this link: Easier access to QuickBooks Online. Then, select the Download Now button to start and run the QuickBooks-Setup.exe.
If you don't get any prompts for download, you can try accessing the link through a private window. It's the best place to spot browser-related issues while opening the link provided.
You can use either of these keyboard shortcuts to save you time:
If it works, clear the cache of your main browser to start fresh.
Alternatively, you can get the desktop app through the Gear icon, as instructed by QuennieC above.
On the other hand, I'm adding these resources for more tips while getting access to the desktop version of QBO:

No, this is not it.
The correct location is here. Unfortunately, it keeps saying "Cannot find our servers, please try again, later." http://http-download.intuit.com/http.intuit/qbowinclient/download/index.html?referrer=qboApps%22%3Eh...
Amazing that a simple functioning link isn't on their website. Should be under Support<>Downloads<>QBO App.
Dead link. Does nothing but bring up a blank page.
Thanks for joining the thread and informing us that you also can't access the link provided, @richlang.
I can imagine the struggle you've been through when trying to access this page.
Since you've already tried those basic troubleshooting steps provided by my colleague, Angelyn_T, above, I recommend contacting our Customer Care Team Support to investigate this matter further.
