Don't move the download to your applications folder, you need to mount (open) the download .dmg file. Once mounted drag the application icon over the top of the application folder icon, once your application folder opens release.
I keep getting this error:
"Setup.exe has stopped working"

I got a new computer and the IT guy installed my QB Pro 2009 disk that he had with all of my other program disks (my old computer was that old). At some point though, I had already upgraded to QB Pro 2013 on my old computer and just downloaded the installation so I didn't have a disk. So now with the new computer, I have QB Pro 2009 installed and of course it can't read my company file because it's been upgraded to work with 2013. I have downloaded 2013 from the QB website and am attempting to install it. I get to the license agreement, click the box to accept, click Next, and then nothing happens. What do I do now?
Thanks for providing us the in-depth details of the installation issue you've encountered, bethiez.

Thanks, RVC. I re-downloaded the upgrade and it worked like a charm!
I am trying to upgrade 2018 to 2020 Desktop Pro. I went through all the steps and when the computer restarted QB was completely gone! When I try to launch exe again, I keep getting this same message “Please restart your computer and re run the installer.” I tried both the disk and the download, same message.
