I'm here to help and provide you with some option on how to print customer's information for mailing invoices or statement.
As of now, QuickBooks Online (QBO) doesn't have an option to print customer's name and address on an envelope. As a workaround for mailing invoices, you might want to consider printing a packing slip as an alternative. You can attach it inside your shipping pouch or in the package itself.
Here's how:
For additional reference and to learn more about packing slip, you can check this article: How to create a packing slip or packing slip.
I can see how this feature would be helpful for you, I recommend sending feedback directly to our product developers so they'll be able to include this in their next product update.
Here's how to send feedback:
You're always welcome to drop by if you have any other questions about QBO. Wishing you and your business continued success.
What about QB Desktop? I just upgraded from 2013 to 2020 and now there's no envelope printing options. Some customers want their invoices and statements by snail mail. Is there still a way to do this?
Hi there, @NWTEL.
I'd be glad to help you print an envelope in QuickBooks Desktop.
Before you print letters and envelopes, you'll need first to review the envelopes to confirm that there are no occurrences of missing information.
Here's how:
Also, you can get existing templates in QuickBooks Desktop, I'll show you how:
If you already set this up, and you still got the same error, you can use our QuickBooks Tool Hub and run the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool. This way we can check what's causing the issue.
I've added this reference about customizing forms and writing QuickBooks Letters.
Don't hesitate to get back in here if you have other queries. I'm here to help you out. Have a nice day.
"Print" is grayed out.
Let's get this working, NWTEL.
Printing issues can occur in QuickBooks Desktop due to a number of reasons. Before we do any troubleshooting steps, I'd recommend updating your QuickBooks release version to the latest one.
The first solution would be to download and run the QuickBooks Tool Hub. This will fix common errors. You can see the download link in this article: Troubleshoot PDF and Print problems with QuickBooks Desktop.
Other troubleshooting steps are also added in the article if the first one doesn't work.
Let us know how this goes so we can give you hand. Have a great day!
Updating QB did the trick. It's weird because I could already print sales orders and invoices but the envelopes option wasn't there. Now it is. Thanks for your help!
What a convoluted method for printing an envelope.
It should be as simple as going into Vendor Center, selecting the vendor by name, and clicking Print Envelope. There's no sense in over-complicating every process.
This is absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. The desk top version allowed the printing of an envelope, how is it possible that the on line version does not? I just subscribed with on line QB's and this is just one small issue. I'll be seeking another alternative and getting away from this QB scam.
Hello there.
I appreciate you for sharing your thoughts about having the option to print an envelope in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
I understand that you want to make changes and improvements to QBO to meet your business needs. However, the option to print an envelope in QBO is unavailable.
In the meantime, you'll want to utilize a third-party app that lets you print an envelope in QBO. Simply hover over to the Apps menu in your QBO account and look for an app from there. Or you can also visit our website: QuickBooks Apps.
I can see how having this option can aid you in managing your business flawlessly. I recommend sending your feedback to our Product Development Team so they can review it and might consider implementing it in the future. Here's how:
Also, feel free to check out this article for more details on setting up forms for window envelopes and to find out what forms and supplies are available in QBO: How to print forms for window envelopes.

Just wondering if now in 2022 there is a way to customers name and addresses on envelopes to mail checks?
Hello there, @Alyssanmo.
I'm here to help share insights about customizing mailing envelopes in QuickBooks Online.
As of the moment, there isn't an integrated way to customize your mailing envelopes to display names and addresses. And I am also unable to determine when such a feature like this is added to the program.
Therefore, I recommend getting in touch and letting our product developers know about this by sending a request via feedback. I'll show you how.
For now, I'm including our Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online page to track the status of your request and get the latest updates from our developer team. Updates such as how the recent enhancement made to QBO helps our business owners, like you.
It'll always be my pleasure to help if you've got other questions aside from working with your sales transaction in QuickBooks. Use the Reply button and leave your comment below so that I, @JonpriL, can assist you further. Take care always and stay safe!
SOLVED FINALLY
I see this is an on going question and thread the same as I had and hard to find answers online. Also actually called customer support on this on two separate occasions with no enlightenment and ended being told “there was no option for this”. However I wanted to post my solution that I found!
I first will state I have QB Desktop 2022 and I believe you will need Word for this as well.
All you need to do is go to COMPANY drop down bar at the top. Toward the bottom you will see PREPARE LETTERS WITH ENVELOPES. I then clicked CUSTOMER LETTERS as those were the addresses I was looking for. But their are other options. You then will be able to choose your names for the addresses you want printed. And click NEXT. It’ll then direct you to Choose a Letter Template. I personally did not need this feature and couldn’t figure out how to by pass that so would just click blank customer letter. And then NEXT. And NEXT again until it would say creating letters maybe another pop up saying information was missing and push OK past all this. It then opens up a document in Word. Which I simply exit out of. Which bring me back to QB and it’ll say PRINT LETTERS AND ENVELOPES. I push next. And it asks you to verify your sender address push okay. And opens word again. It’ll give you font options and envelope options here in Word! Push Okay load your envelopes and you are good to go! Hopefully this makes sense. Long winded and sounds difficult but was quite simply considering I don’t have to hand write 500 addresses anymore!!
Can you print envelopes on online Quickbooks?
Hello there, @Mark.
Yes, we can print envelopes in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I'll guide you on how:
However, if you're trying to print a vendor checks, you can follow the steps below:
Also, I added these links if you need help printing the forms in QuickBooks Online:
Leave a reply if you need more help with your envelopes. I'll be here!
Can this be done without Word being installed? I'm using QB2016Pro and the routine stops because it cannot find MSWord (not installed).
Thanks for joining the Community and getting involved with this thread, TonyG4.
Microsoft Word isn't needed to print documents from QuickBooks Desktop. If you're encountering printing issues, there's a series of things you'll want to check.
Here's some things you'll want to make sure of initially:
Next, you can try printing from another program, like Notepad.
Here's how to print with Notepad:
If it didn't print, try testing your printer setup. In the event it did print outside of QuickBooks, you'll want to test your company file and QuickBooks installation.
Please feel welcome to send a reply if there's any additional questions. Have a wonderful day!
Thanks ZackE, Problem solved with a workaround
Maybe I mis-stated my problem earlier. I'm using a legacy version, QB2016Pro desktop, MSWord not installed. My computer and installed QB prints just fine. But when attempting to print envelopes (Company, Prepare Letters with Envelopes), QB stops when it does not find MSWord. No other options to go around the Warning, just back or close.
So I continued to search and found the article on Packing slips, which suits my need almost perfectly. Still does not print directly to envelopes, but including a packing slip in my two window envelopes gets the job done. Thanks for your help!
this is becoming a convoluted mess, printing envelopes should be trivial and simple from the customer list, sort this out or we will move to alternative invoicing solutions
agreed!
