Can I connect e-commerce accounts like Shopify to QuickBooks Self-Employed?
by Intuit• Updated 2 years ago
Learn what to do if you use external e-commerce sites, like Shopify and Amazon.
Some e-commerce sites like Coinbase and Etsy connect to QuickBooks Self-Employed like other bank or credit card accounts.
Other e-commerce services like Shopify can't connect to QuickBooks Self-Employed.
What you can do in QuickBooks Self-Employed
You can manually enter income from these sites, but you can't download individual transactions. If you do enter your sales, QuickBooks Self-Employed can help you estimate your federal estimated quarterly taxes.
However, key e-commerce features are missing. QuickBooks Self-Employed can't track sales tax or state estimated taxes.
What you can do if you need to connect to e-commerce sites
If you sell lots of products for your self-employed business, these features are essential. Consider using QuickBooks Online. It's better suited for e-commerce, and there are apps for e-commerce sites like Shopify and Amazon.
