Hey @KelbyR
Welcome back! Notifications are so important to help us keep track of filing status.
If you are filing the tax forms yourself, at minimum, you will receive an email notification when you file the tax forms, and another when they have been accepted by the IRS.
You will also receive in-product prompts that your tax forms are due to be filed when the time comes.
The IRS and state agencies can update tax forms frequently at year’s end. It’s important to make sure that you are keeping up with your payroll updates to ensure that the most current forms are being filed. To update:
If we are filing the forms for you, you'll receive several email communications reminding you when we will be processing the forms, when they have been transmitted, and when they are accepted.
Our goal is to keep you well informed of the status of your tax forms and filings. Thanks for checking! If you have any other questions about filing or anything else, I'm just a comment away!

Since November 2020, the e-payment reports for the state payroll taxes with the biweekly payrolls is no longer being sent to my email. Taxes are paid (check online banking), but the report showing the transaction ID amount to Maryland stopped as of last pay in October. Spent 8 hours (2 diff days) with QB chat and still not working. I get the e-payment reports for IRS still. How can this get resolved.
Thanks for joining this thread, sales196.
Since you're not receiving email notifications about state taxes, I'd recommend accessing your Payroll Account Management portal and reviewing the admin's information to confirm you have a correct address on file.
Here's how it's done for Basic, Standard, and Enhanced plans:
If you're using our Assisted plan, you can follow the steps in our Update Payroll Admin information resource to review your contact info.
In the event you're still not receiving emails after confirming your contact details are accurate, you'll want to make sure Intuit's email addresses are listed as approved for your provider.
I've included a few resources about managing payroll accounts that may come in handy moving forward:
I'll be here to help if there's any additional questions. Have a great day!
I get the notifications for federal payments. I get the notifications for MD forms filing. I just no longer get the email notifications for ACTUAL payments made to Maryland for any payroll taxes. I have been getting the emails for MD payments for over 2 years--it just stopped after my last one in October 2020. I have been online with QB support via chat for 7 hours in 2 weeks and still no resolution. WHY has the MD payment email notifications/confirmations containing the transaction IDs stopped? The tax payments are being pulled from my bank account, but I want the email notifications as I am supposed to have them.
Let's check your email notification after making tax payments for Maryland, sales196.
We send emails to confirm the submission of your e-payments. You can check the spam or junk folders. And, if it’s there, move the email to your Inbox.
To make sure that you'll receive emails, you need to add Intuit’s email addresses to your contact list. Also, the sender ID "do_not_reply@intuit.com" is not included in the Sender Policy Framework (SPF), an email authentication system that prevents email spoofing.
If Sender ID filtering is turned on, then emails coming from do_not_reply@intuit.com automatically gets rejected.
Also, to ensure that the payment or form is submitted to the agency in a timely manner, it's important to check the status of the e-payment or e-filed form after it's submitted.
If you still need a copy of the confirmation starting October last year, I recommend getting back in touch with our QuickBooks Desktop Team. I know you've already contacted them. However, they can pull up your account and resend the email.
Get back to me if you need anything else concerning payroll. I'm always around to help you.
I have to received confirmation from IRS on 1099 filing I did through Quickbooks. I thought deadline was February 28 so was late filing. What can I do to confirm IRS has this?
Hello, filiberto-aparic.
I'll ensure you'll get the 1099 filing confirmation and ensure it is received by the IRS.
Normally, we will send out a confirmation email regarding the filing status. Check your email inboxes for the status of the 1099 form you e-filed through QuickBooks.
Another way you can check for the confirmation is to go your Tax1099 E-File account. Log in to the Tax1099 E-File Service website. From there, you can check the filing status. Check this Tax1099 article if you need help navigating their pages:
Alternatively, you'll want to contact the IRS to check its filing status and to see if they already received it. You can find their contact details here: Contact IRS for More Information.
This articles sheds more light on filing 1099s in QuickBooks: 1099 E-File: QuickBooks Desktop setup, troubleshooting, & FAQs.
If you need to take care of other taxes or simply want to manage your books, we have help resources to guide you. Feel free to browse for them in the articles list page. You can specify the topic by choosing one at the bottom of the page.
I'm still open for any other questions you might have for QuickBooks. I'll add guides to help you record transactions, manage your lists and so on.
So, I submitted my 941 efile almost 3 days ago and it still says submitted to intuit. I have called a few times and the only answer I get is that it is still processing and wait 10 days. It has never been this way, I submit to intuit and it says submitted to intuit and within 24 hours (usually much quicker) it will say submitted to agency and the agency accepted or rejected. The QBDT website says same thing so its like my submission is stuck within intuit and not being submitted to agency. Both people I spoke with QBDT said it was an IRS issue to pass the issue off. It's not an IRS issue it hasnt' been sent to the IRS yet, it's still with Intuit. QBDT website even gives the process. I can't re-efile as QBDT wont' let me do that.
How do I know the E-Filing to the IRS was accepted
Thanks for getting involved with this thread, jimbishop.

Same issue. Submitted 941 and 940 on 1/3/23. I have not received an email confirmation of the submission from Quickbooks.
I've efiled 941 & 940 returns on 01/7/2023 and I've NOT received confirmation email yet. In last 3rd Quarter e-filing, I received confirmation email for efiling returns in less than 24 hours.
no received confirmation emails yet since 01/07/2023 for efiling 940 941 returns
I want to ensure you'll be able to receive an confirmation email for e-filing returns, @TQUAN.

Same. 940 and 941 efiled through QB Desktop Payroll on 01/04/2023, status still "Submitted to Intuit" on 01/11/2023. How do I follow up?
Hello there, @61701.
Allow me to help you achieve your goal today. Submitted to Intuit status means your e-payment form has been received by Intuit.
The status will change to Intuit rejected if there is a problem with the information on your payment form or a server connection issue. Submitted to the agency if it's already sent to the agency.
Agency rejected if not accepted by the agency and they will be sending a rejection message to you. Once discrepancies are no longer present, the status will change to Agency accepted.
Furthermore, the number of days since the day you submitted it will also matter on the status change of your e-file form.
To check the progress of your status, I recommend contacting QuickBooks Desktop Payroll support. To help you pull up the resources you needed.

I started another thread about this. It is a QB/IRS problem. It doesn't explain why we didn't get that initial email.
I received my E-filing confirmation however the body of the email is this:
http://payroll.com/support/enhanced
Yes the email tells me in the heading my tax payment is accepted I always print the email and attach it to a copy of my E-pay Confirmation. Why did this change from last week? Is it because of the update I forced to do today? How do I fix it?
Thank you for looping in this thread, @Cheryl_H. I'll share some information about the changes in the confirmation email.
There should be a message validating the payment accepted before the link. Since you're experiencing issues with the email's body, I recommend contacting our Support Team to have this investigated. Rest assured that they'll do everything they can to fix this.

Good morning,
I have desktop enhanced payroll and I submitted a 941 electronically yesterday, and I received an email from Quickbooks confirming it. I checked the status of the filing this morning, and it still has not been submitted to the tax agency. That is very strange because it is usually submitted to the tax agency within minutes after I submit the file. What happened? How can I get QuickBooks to submit it like normal? I am very worried. I also will need to submit W-2s/W-3 and I am afraid it will get stuck, too.
Thank you,
Paula
Hi there, @PF2024
I understand how you feel about your Form 941 filing, which still needs to be submitted to the tax agency. However, I want to assure you that Intuit will submit it to the tax agency within 24-48 hours. You can check the status of your filings by following these steps:
Here are the different statuses that shows:
Furthermore, you can also consider learning how to e-pay taxes in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Enhanced.
If you have additional questions, let me know by replying below. I'm here to assist you anytime.
I also submitted my 2023 940 on December 31, 2023. The status still shows "Submitted to Intuit". Usually the submission is sent to the tax agency and the tax agency accepts, all within minutes. Please advise.
Thanks you.
Thank you for joining the thread, @cjn52.
Let me help and provide information about why the status still shows "Submitted to Intuit" in your QuickBooks Desktop Payroll (QBDTP).
To start, Submitted to Intuit status means that Intuit has received your e-payment form. If there is any issue with the information on your payment form or a server connection problem, the status will change to Intuit rejected. Once the payment form is successfully sent to the agency, the status will change to Submitted to the agency.
Additionally, If the agency rejects your application, they will send you a notification. Your e-file form will only be marked as Agency accepted once any discrepancies have been resolved. Also, the number of days since you submitted your form will affect how quickly the status changes.
To find out how to check the status of your payroll tax forms and payments, refer to this article: Check the status of your payroll payments and filings sent through QuickBooks Payroll.
If the status is unchange after 48hrs reach out to Payroll support team to further check the payment status: Contact QuickBooks Desktop Payroll support.
For your reference, I have added some articles to guide you through the process of submitting and verifying the submitted forms.
Please feel free to leave a comment below if you have any concerns about e-filing or other Desktop Payroll-related issues. I am here to help.
Thanks for the reply. What is the expected timeframe for the status to change to "rejected" or "submitted to agency"?
