Important:
|
Solution 1: Clear the cookies and cache in Internet Explorer
Follow this solution even if you have Windows 10 or don’t use Internet Explorer as your web browser. QuickBooks Payments uses Internet Explorer behind the scenes to connect to our services online.
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Select the Tools ⚙ icon. Or, press the Alt key on your computer to bring up the menu bar, then select the Tools menu.
- Select Internet Options from the menu.
- Go to the General tab. From the Browsing history, select Delete…
- Select the following to delete:
- Temporary Internet files and website files
- Cookies and website data
- History
- Passwords
- Select Delete.
- Close the Internet Options window.
- Close Internet Explorer.
- Try to access QuickBooks Payments again.
If you don’t see Internet Explorer in Windows 10
Microsoft has replaced Internet Explorer with Edge as its main web browser. However, Internet Explorer is still in Windows 10. If you don’t see Internet Explorer on your computer, here’s how to open it through Edge:
- Open Microsoft Edge.
- Select the button with three dots (...) at the top right of the browser window.
- Select Open with Internet Explorer.
- Follow the steps above to clear the cookies and cache.
If clearing the cache and cookies in Internet Explorer doesn’t fix the problems, move on to solution 2.
Solution 2: Change the Compatibility View settings in Internet Explorer
The Compatibility View settings help web pages display properly. To change them in Internet Explorer:
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Select the Tools ⚙ icon. Or, press the Alt key on your computer to bring up the menu bar, then select the Tools menu.
- Select Compatibility View Settings from the menu.
- In the Add this website field, enter "https://*.intuit.com" and select Add. Repeat this step for both "https://*.intuit.net" and "https://*.quickbooks.com."
- Select Close.
If you still see problems, try solution 3.
Solution 3: Change the internet connection settings in QuickBooks
Although you can change these settings directly in Internet Explorer, it’s best to do it in QuickBooks Desktop. This makes sure the new settings take effect in QuickBooks.
- Open QuickBooks Desktop
- Go to the Help menu and select Internet Connection Setup.
- Select Use my computer’s Internet connection settings, then select Next.
- Select Advanced Connection Settings… This opens the Internet Options window where you can change the settings described below.
If you still run into problems with payments, move on to solution 4.
Solution 4: Change your firewall and security software settings
You may need to change the settings for your firewall or security software. Like other web-based credit card processing software, QuickBooks Payments requires a secure, uninterrupted connection to send and receive data.
