Need to restore your backup company file? If you see error messages about your password or assisted payroll data, don't worry. Here's how to fix these issues so you can finish restoring your data.
Reset your password
Do you see the message, "Your data has NOT been restored if you failed to enter the correct admin password"?
Follow the steps to use the Automated Password Reset Tool. After you reset your password, restore your backup file again.
Restore missing payroll data
Do you see this message:
"This QuickBooks file may be missing some of the payroll data that you have already sent to the Payroll Service. Before creating any new transactions, you need to restore the missing data by clicking Send Payroll Data from the Employees menu and then clicking the Send button"?
- Go to the Employee menu and select Send Payroll Data.
- Check the Items to send field. If you have 0 paychecks for $0.00, select Send.
If there are any transactions listed, don't select Send. You may create duplicate transactions on accident. Contact us so we can help you check what items QuickBooks already sent.
