The people whose information you store in your Mailchimp account are known as your contacts. The Mailchimp mobile app offers a few ways to manage your contacts.
In this article, you’ll learn how to view, tag, and remove contacts on mobile.
Before you start
Here are some things to know before you begin this process.
- Just getting started? For more information on how to set up Mailchimp for iOS or Android, check out Use Mailchimp on mobile devices.

Tag a contact
Tagging lets you bring your own contact structure into Mailchimp and label contacts based on data that you know about them. After you have some contacts in your audience, you can organize them with tags.
To tag a contact, follow these steps.
Open Mailchimp’s mobile app on your phone or tablet, and tap the Audience tab.
Scroll to the Contacts section and tap All contacts. You can also view this information in the subscribed contacts panel.
Find the contact you want to work with, and tap their name.
- Scroll to the Tags section, then tap Add Tags.
- Use the search bar to find existing tags, or type to create a new one.
- Check the buttons next to the tags you want to add to the contact.
- When you’re done, tap Save.
The tags are now added to your contact.
Remove a contact
There are a few ways to remove a contact from the mobile app. You can unsubscribe your contact from your marketing campaign, archive them from your audience and keep their campaign data, or permanently delete them from your account.
To remove a contact, follow these steps.
Open Mailchimp’s mobile app on your phone or tablet, and tap the Audience tab.
Scroll to the Contacts section and tap All contacts. You can also view this information in the subscribed contacts panel.
Search or scroll to find the contact you want to work with, and tap their name.
Tap Edit on the contact’s profile page.
In the Actions section, you’ll find options to Unsubscribe, Archive, or Delete the contact.
That’s it! If you delete a contact, you permanently remove all of their information from your audience. If you need to reduce your contact count but don’t want to lose any data, we recommend you archive contacts rather than delete them.
