The QuickBooks Connector lets you generate financial reports, benchmark your business against others in your industry, import transactions, create sales documents like invoices and estimates, and accept payment through payment links.
Note: Your QuickBooks data is accessed securely through an authenticated connection. QuickBooks data is not used to train Claude. For more information, see Intuit's Privacy Policy.
What you’ll need
An active Claude account.
Either an active QuickBooks or Intuit Enterprise Suite subscription, or the following information:
The nature of your business (for example, retail, freelance, services, or nonprofit).
Your country or region, as tax rules and accounting standards vary by jurisdiction.
For best results, at least 10 transactions covering a one-month business period, uploaded or pasted directly into the conversation.
Connect QuickBooks or Intuit Enterprise Suite to Claude
Open Claude.ai and navigate to Connectors in the left navigation.
Find QuickBooks and select Connect.
If you have an Intuit account, sign in when prompted. If you don't have an Intuit account, you can still use the connector — see Using the connector without a subscription below.
Once connected, you can start asking Claude questions about your finances.
Using the QuickBooks connector without a QuickBooks or Intuit Enterprise Suite subscription
You can use the QuickBooks Connector without an active Intuit account, but Claude needs whatever information it would normally pull from QuickBooks.
| Use Case | Example Prompt | What to Provide | What You Get |

Sales transactions and customer management
You can create, update, send, and manage sales transactions in Claude. Claude handles the QuickBooks actions — you provide the details. This includes creating payments, not just internal documentation. The transactions are automatically added in QuickBooks.
While creating a sales transaction, you can ask it to create new customers as part of the Claude transaction.
Note: Destructive actions — such as deleting an invoice or estimate — require your confirmation before QuickBooks makes any changes.

Troubleshoot problems
I'm having trouble connecting to my account
Make sure you're signed in to the correct Intuit QuickBooks or Intuit Enterprise Suite user. If the connection fails, try disconnecting and reconnecting from the Connectors menu.
Claude isn't using my QuickBooks data
Confirm your connector is still active under your Settings > Connectors. If it shows as disconnected, re-authenticate with your Intuit credentials.
I connected my account, but Claude reconnected me again
If you connect and then try to reconnect immediately, this can cause an issue. Disconnect fully, wait a moment, and reconnect once.
My financial data doesn't look right
Claude pulls live data from QuickBooks or Intuit Enterprise Suite. If something looks off, verify the data directly in QuickBooks first. For data discrepancies, contact QuickBooks Support.
The connector can't do what I'm asking
The current QuickBooks connector use cases are limited to the ones above. For additional use cases you would like to see built share your feedback via the Contact Us form.
Next Steps
Once you’ve created any transactions with a prompt, they’ll be visible in QuickBooks Online in the appropriate section. Review the transaction to make sure it was entered correctly.
