Learn how to change your QuickBooks File Manager Password Vault password.
The password vault stores the usernames and passwords of your clients’ company files in a secure environment. Change your password vault password every 90 days to maintain security.
Change your Password Vault password
- Log in to QuickBooks File Manager.
- Select the Password Vault ▼ dropdown.
- Select Change Password Vault Login.
- Enter the required info.
- Select OK.
Note: If you see the message: “Your password has expired. To access the Password Vault, you must create a new password.” and can’t change your vault password, update your QuickBooks File Manager to the latest version. Then, try to change your password again.
Update your QuickBooks File Manager
- Download the QuickBooks File Manager which corresponds to your QuickBooks version.
- Open the downloaded file.
Important: Close your QuickBooks and QuickBooks File Manager before you install. - Complete the installation.
