Learn how to edit your invoice and invoice payment using the QuickBooks Online app.

Stay in control of your business finances anytime, anywhere. Easily send invoices, track payments, and manage cash flow with the QuickBooks mobile app for iOS and Android. You can also send reminders, apply VAT, and check your invoice status. Here’s how.

Track your invoice status

Use the app to view invoice statuses at a glance and track which ones remain open, paid, or overdue.

Note:

  • Processed payments: For payments that have already been processed, use QuickBooks Online on the web to make any changes.
  • Restricted edits: The mobile app doesn’t allow changes to transaction amounts.
  • CIS invoices: The mobile app doesn’t support CIS invoices.

Edit or delete your invoice

You can edit invoice details including the customer name, reference number, or memo.

Tip: To update your charge amounts, use QuickBooks Online on the web.

  1. Tap Menu ☰ and select the ALL tab.
  2. Tap Invoices in the Sales section.
  3. Select the invoice, then tap the details you need to edit and make the changes.
    1. To delete, tap More, then Delete.

Add your notes to invoices or other transactions to track important details, updates, or internal messages.

iOS (invoices only)

Use an iPhone or iPad to attach notes to your invoices. These notes help you keep track of important details.

Android

Attach notes to more transaction types on Android. This includes invoices, estimates, and sales receipts.

Capture signature

Your customer can sign an estimate or invoice using the QuickBooks app. This helps you complete fast, secure transactions.

Edit or delete invoice payments or sales receipts

Update fields like date, reference number, and memo when you edit your invoice payments and sales receipts. You can also delete your invoice payments when needed. The steps may differ slightly depending on your device.

Note: For processed payments, you can edit fields that affect the charge amount using QuickBooks Online on the web.
