Learn how to look for transactions in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

Need help looking for transactions you can’t find? Don’t worry. QuickBooks has a search and find feature to help you find anything in your company file.

The Search function looks for all transactions, list items, or activities that match your search. If you have a specific transaction in mind, you can use the Find feature and get matching results for transactions only.

Note: If you’re in the Search window already, you can switch to the Find window by selecting Go to Find.

To print a report showing the transactions that QuickBooks found, select Report. When the report appears, select Print.

Find transactions using record numbers

You can also use Find to locate transactions that have errors by using the record number in the QuickBooks.log file. Learn more about QuickBooks.log files.
