We’ve improved our release process for QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise, QuickBooks Desktop Premier Plus, QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus, and QuickBooks Desktop for Mac. We're committed to providing you with the best possible experience, and that includes clear communication about our plans.
Here's what you need to know
Current QuickBooks Desktop subscribers will get new features and improvements throughout the year instead of having to install a new version. This gets updates to you faster and makes sure your software stays secure. To get the latest updates, turn on automatic updates.
QuickBooks Desktop Plus 2024 and QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise 24.0 were our final annual platform releases.
Moving forward
QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise remains our flagship desktop product and appropriate for companies with limited internet connection.
If you're on QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise version 2023 (23.0), upgrade to the latest 2024 (24.0) platform for free to avoid service interruptions and receive the latest security updates. Version 23.0 has been discontinued as of May 31, 2026. You'll no longer have access to Intuit services, such as QuickBooks Desktop Payroll on this version.
