Hello. Saw that you posted that QB 2019 is still supported. I have the Mac version but haven't yet seen an update to print the 3 per page 1099 NECs. I just chatted with a QB tech and he advised that my 2019 version was NOT supported and in order to print my 2021 1099 NECs I would have to upgrade to the 2022 version! Is this true??
It is now January 3rd and still no 1099-NEC 3 up and no form 940. I guess this is Intuits way of making money-charging us but not doing their job. They must be on vacation for at least the past year 6 months.
I have updated my desktop to 2022 version (have updated every year) and still the 1099 NEC is only the two part form when I attempt to print it, not the updated 3 part form. I'm ready to go, please help!
Let me address your concern today, @Bella613, @Dcmef, @VJF.
Yes, you'll have to upgrade your QBDT to the latest versions (2020,2021,2022). Your access to QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Services, Live Support, Online Backup, Online Banking, and other services through QuickBooks Desktop 2019 software will be discontinued after May 31, 2022.
This also means you'll no longer receive critical security updates starting June 1, 2022.As a workaround, you can go to the IRS website to get the form.
For now, we don't have the specific time frame as to when will be the implementation of the updated Form 1099-NEC and form 940 in QuickBooks. Our product engineers are making sure that QuickBooks is compliant with all the IRS regulations when it comes to filing the tax forms.
To make sure that you'll get the updated one, check out these articles so the changes will flow directly to your account:

I have Quickbooks 2019 and understand that it will no longer be supported after May 31st, but that still means we will get important updates up until that time, correct? Like the new 1099 NEC form format? On page 1 of this thread, JasroV of the "Quickbooks Team" said that 2019 would be included in that update. Please make it clear if the 2019 version will be included in the new 1099 NEC form format update. Thank you.
Thanks for asking us today, @VMI123. Yes, that's correct. Currently, the versions supported are 2019, 2020, and 2021.

My client has QB Desktop 2021 and she is unable to print the 1099-NEC 3 to a page forms. I would not upgrade just yet as from everything I have read on multiple threads, 2019 should still be supported (for a few more months at least!).
Hello there, BookkeeperNatasha.

RE: Intuit should have known about this a long time ago...
They did! They pay people to know these things and they get updates from the IRS.
RE: ...and updated programs.
They just didn't. Instead they sat on their hands until it was too late to get things out on time. They're later this year, it seems, than in prior years with a lot of compliance updates: Payroll tax rates, payroll tax forms, and the 1099 forms.
More and more, they seem unable to plan ahead far enough to complete this kind of timely work on time. Next year ought to be interesting.
I tried your suggestion and downloaded the updates, restarted QuickBooks, but when I went to print the 1099-NEC forms it STILL has them as 2-up forms instead of 3-up forms.
I am using Premier 2019 desktop version.
Dcmef,
I tried the Form 940 and it is final now.
940 is final now. Finally.
Glad to have you back here in the Community, @KM5829 M, sta843k.

Well, considering all 1099-NEC forms MUST be issued before January 31, I would suggest QuickBooks get moving in a hurry to get those downloaded updates fully implemented! It's already January 5th!
We have the newest versions and the NEC is still set up for 2 -up not the 3-up used this year.. When will this update happen?
In QB Enterprise 22.0 I am able to print the 1099-NEC 3 per page now.
Still cannot print 3 per page in QB 2022, 2021, or 2020.
I've come to provide information about your 1099 NEC form printing concern, @sta843k.
You have to ensure that your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) program is updated to the latest release as well as your payroll tax table to be able to print the 1099 NEC 3 part form.
I've attached this article that will serve as your reference in preparing and filing your federal 1099s in QBDT: Create and file 1099s with QuickBooks Desktop.
Also, it's easy to view your employee data and monitor your business finances in QBDT. To do so, you can open any payroll reports that suit your needs. To give you a list of those reports and an overview of what data they show, please head to the Excel-based payroll reports page.
Keep in touch if you have any other questions about the 1099 NEC forms in QBDT. I'm always around to help. Take care always.
So QB/Intuit is going to pay ALL of our penalties for not getting 1099-NEC's done in time. This is ridiculous-it is the 5th of January and still no 1099-NEC 3 up.
I just got off the phone from talking with Iylahye at QB and she said that the 1099-NEC 3up would not be ready until the next release which is "supposed to be next Thursday the 13th".. we will see if that is true or not. I was told at the end of last week that it would be ready on the 1st and as we all know it wasn't.
The 1099-NEC forms worked fine for "Quickbooks 2019 Desktop" for tax year 2020; however, it appears one of their recent updates is causing an issue for tax year 2021. The Payor's/Recipient's TIN should print on the same line as Box 1 per the IRS 1099-NEC form. The TINs now print 5+ lines below this line. Secondly, the IRS 1099-NEC sheet has 3 forms. The Quickbooks version has 2 for the 2021 tax year. In other words, Quickbook needs to issue a "patch" to fix these issues.
The Intuit Quickbooks website states that they will support a Desktop 2019 license for 3 years. When will Quickbooks issue a "patch" to correct the 1099-NEC for Desktop 2019 license holders. The form was fine for tax year 2020; however, the 1099-NEC printing now is no longer correct.
Hi there, oakpkgop.
I'm here to make sure you'll be able to print the correct 1099-NEC in QuickBooks Desktop.
Access to add-on services for QuickBooks Desktop for Windows 2019 will be discontinued after May 31, 2022. This includes QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier, and Enterprise Solutions v19 in all versions.
You can still use your QBDT 2019, however, you won't be able to access live support and other services. For additional details, please see the following article: QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation policy and upgrade information.
You'll need to upgrade your QBDT to the latest versions (,2020,2021,2022) to be able to print and file your 1099's form.

Today is January 6, 2022 and QuickBooks has not updated 1099-NEC for 2019 Edition.
It is still 2 vendors per page instead of 3.
Do you have anytime line for this or it is another way to force customer to buy a latest version
I'm here to provide some insights about the availability of the Form 1099-NEC in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), @CA36.
The QBDT system is now able to print 3 to a page for 1099-NEC. You'll have to make sure you're on the QuickBooks latest releases with the appropriate Ultra-Light Patches (ULIPs) applied or Critical Fixes.

For some reason now my 1099-NEC mapping option is pointing all of the accounts I want on Line 1 nonemployee compensation to Line 15, State Tax Withheld. The lines are greyed out and won't allow me to update them. How can I get them changed? See screenshot in attached file.
