Get expert bookkeeping help in QuickBooks Online
If you have QuickBooks Online Plus and QuickBooks Online Advanced, your subscription includes Intuit Expert bookkeeping services. An Intuit bookkeeping expert reviews and categorizes your bank transactions to help keep your books up-to-date. This means you can spend less time on manual bookkeeping and more time running your business.
The services included depend on your subscription. This article explains what's included with each plan, how to turn on the service, and what to do if something needs your attention.
Note: If you already have an accountant attached to your QuickBooks Online account, you're opted out of these services by default so the Intuit Experts don't duplicate your accountant's work. You or your accountant can turn the service on manually from the Intuit Experts Hub.

Turn on your bookkeeping service
To get started, go to the Intuit Experts Hub and set your accounting policies so your expert knows how to handle your transactions.
QuickBooks Online Plus (Smart Expert Categorization)
Go to the Intuit Experts Hub.
Select Start setup to activate,
Enter the requested information and then select "turn on".
Set your Transaction Posting Policy and your Asset and Expense Policy.
Optional: Select Schedule an appointment if you want an Intuit Expert to walk you through your settings.
Complete the setup steps. Your service starts automatically once you're done.
QuickBooks Online Advanced (Expert Books Upkeep)
Go to the Intuit Experts Hub.
Select Schedule an appointment to book your required 45-minute setup call.
During the call, your Intuit Expert reviews your posting policies with you and runs the chart of accounts cleanup tool.
You can also run the cleanup tool on your own before reaching out to an Intuit Expert.
Review the accounts your Intuit Expert flags as unused or unclear, then choose to hide or make them inactive.
After you approve the cleanup, your Intuit Expert activates your service.
How your Intuit Expert categorizes your transactions
Once your service is active, they will work in the background to keep your books moving forward. You may see the following from your Intuit Expert:
Ready to post: QuickBooks identifies high-confidence transactions based on your history and policies. Your Intuit Expert reviews and posts these in batches.
Needs review: If QuickBooks isn't confident about a transaction's category, class, or location, your Intuit Expert reviews it manually and posts it using their judgment.
Requests for information: If a transaction is unrecognized or missing details, your expert marks it Uncategorized and sends you a request for more information. Reply with the missing context, and your expert updates the transaction for you.
Note: If a transaction is vague or missing required details, your Intuit Expert won't guess. They'll send you a request to your inbox for more information so your books stay accurate.
Track your business health with Expert Books Upkeep
If you're on QuickBooks Online Advanced, your Intuit Expert also provides proactive quality checks and business insights.
Monthly quality check: At the end of every month, your Expert reviews your books to confirm all data entry is complete and accurate.
Quarterly insights call: Every three months, you can schedule a 45-minute call with your Intuit Expert. They look at your profits and losses, expenses, and accounts receivables. They then give you 3 to 5 insights, trends, and a plan for your business.
