Monitor project goal profitability in Intuit Enterprise Suite
by Intuit• Updated 6 days ago
Learn how to monitor goal progress to keep your business on track in Intuit Enterprise Suite.
Once your goals are set, you can track and monitor them within the Goals page or Projects (Take me there) page. The details page of your projects display a Project profitability widget which displays actual value, target value, and the forecasted value.
We forecast weekly net profit margin using historical averages of completed projects, completion percentages, income, and expense transaction amounts and types. The forecasted profit margin is compared against your set goal and the project is categorized as On-track, At-risk, or Off-track. You can monitor and take actions to maintain the financial health of the project.
Note: The AI logic of this widget is sensitive to your user account settings (accrual vs cash) and the toggle selection (hourly costs vs payroll expenses).
Review and action AI suggestions
If your project is either At-risk or Off-track, select Review Suggestions on the Profit margin widget to see actionable insights to help keep your project budget on track.
- The Summary section gives you a breakdown of expected revenue and expenses, allowing you to see the expected profit margin at the end of your project.
- The AI suggestions section provides you detailed Description, their Impact, Evidence, and suggested Actions.
If your project has no forecasts or insights:
- Ensure your project has an End date.
- Create any one transaction to generate a forecast.
- Create enough transactions (expenses, bills, invoices, purchase orders, time activities) to see anomalies, trends, contributions, and comparison insights.
Notes about this widget
- Intuit Enterprise Suite leverages the historical actual and estimated profit margins of completed projects, along with their corresponding project duration, industry, and project type, to suggest the net profit margin of the project.
- Currently, we support Accrual based accounting only. To check your accounting method, go to Settings
then Account and settings and then the Advanced tab.
- Forecasting, goals, and actionable insights are refreshed periodically. Any changes made to a goal or transactions added to a project which changes the forecast value or data points, are reflected in about 4 hours.
