Manage multiple close assignee roles

by Intuit• Updated 4 days ago

In this video, you'll see how to manage close assignees and custom statuses using Books Close preferences.

Configure multiple assignees to define up to three roles for each close workflow using terminology that matches your firm’s internal processes. Once you’ve configured these roles, you can track ownership for month-end closes.

This article describes how to configure and manage assignee roles at the firm level.

Configure multiple assignee roles

You can configure up to three roles, including the default role of Preparer. Note that this role can’t be disabled.

  1. From Intuit Accountant Suite, hover over All apps to select Books close, and then select Books close settings.
  2. Select Preferences. Scroll to Close assignees and select Image Alt Text edit.
  3. Make any of the following changes:
    • Select an existing role name and enter text to rename the role. Role names must be unique and can’t be blank.
    • Select the toggle next to a role to enable or disable it. Once the change is applied, you may need to update existing templates. Note that Preparer can’t be disabled.
  4. When you’re finished, select Save to apply your changes.

Once saved, you’ll see the updated assignee roles across Books Close.
