Note: As of October 12, 2021, cloud access packages will only be offered for Enterprise. Cloud access or any other remote packages won't be available for QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus or Premier Plus.

What QuickBooks versions are compatible with Rightworks?

Rightworks can host supported versions of QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier, and Enterprise. Intuit will only sell Enterprise Cloud Access offered in the Deluxe, Classic and Core packages.

How does a hosted QuickBooks Desktop differ from a normal setup?

Through Rightworks, you can access QuickBooks anytime and anywhere. It lets you and your team work on the same QuickBooks company.

All you need is an internet connection to use all of QuickBooks’ accounting and productivity tools.

What are the benefits / limitations of cloud hosting?

QuickBooks updates and reinstallation

When it’s time to upgrade QuickBooks, you’ll receive email instructions on how to do so. Or, see instructions on how to install QuickBooks from your Rightworks My Account portal. 

If you need to reinstall, run a repair, or need more assistance, contact Rightworks.

Updates also run automatically for your payroll. If you want to know when a specific payroll update will be available, you can email support@rightworks.com.

System settings
When it comes to system settings, you don't have to worry. Things like firewall exceptions, advanced browser settings, and email ports are set up automatically for your QuickBooks Desktop.

File storage
You won't be able to access your QuickBooks installation files or your computer's local drive through Rightworks. But you can use Rightworks' File Manager to move files in and out of your Rightworks cloud.

Backup benefits

Your data is automatically stored as a 90 day rolling backup. Each day has its own backup and each backup is duplicated in multiple locations. We do sometimes hold data for longer but will not promise availability beyond 90 days.

Connected Apps

What kind of apps can I host with cloud access?

Get more done and keep all your data in one place by syncing apps with QuickBooks like Microsoft Office and Google Chrome. Connect more than 200 additional apps with the Deluxe subscription. Apps are not included with a hosting subscription, but you have the ability to use the application in a hosted environment.

The Core cloud subscription can host any app that uses the QuickBooks web connector and Bill.com. Classic cloud subscription has all of these app integrations as well as Avalara, Dext, Fathom, Qvinci, and Tallie. 

Note: The installation and usage of third party apps requires Rightworks to maintain, update, manage and secure connections. This requires resources and server space which have costs associated.  

Will my cloud access plan host my existing Office 365 plan?

We support apps for Enterprise, Business Premium, E3 and E5.
