My efile 10 digit pin is usually populated when filing my quarterly 941 forms but this time, it is not populated and I don't remember what the pin number is. Any idea why it is no longer populated and how can I find the pin?
If this happened when you upgraded to QB 2022, then there is a known but where the PIN isn't retained during the upgrade.
If you don't have a record of what the PIN is, then you'll need to get it or a new one from the IRS.
Let me share a few information about your 10-digit PIN, Lori102.
The fastest and easiest way to make sure you stay compliant with the IRS is to pay and file your 941/944, and 940 taxes electronically. However, a 10-digit PIN is required to do the process. As what BigRed mentioned, if the PIN wasn't retained due to the upgrade, you'll have to reach out to IRS to retrieve the information. Otherwise, you'll have to get a new one from them. Learn more about the Efile 10-digit PIN from this article: Set Up Federal E-File And E-Pay In QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Enhanced.
Furthermore, to give you more details on how to electronically pay and file your forms, I've added this resource for your guide: E-File And E-Pay Federal Forms And Taxes In QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Enhanced.

HOW CAN I RETRIEVE THIS NUMBER - IT WAS LOST WHEN I UPDATED TO QB ENTERPRISE FROM PREMIER EARLIER THIS YEAR 2023?
THANKS IN ADVANCE,
KELLY PETERSEN
I know how important to save this PIN, @redhead1_8. I can help you where to obtain the 10-digit Efile number in QuickBooks Desktop.
As mentioned above by @bigred, it cannot be retained in the QuickBooks Desktop account when you upgrade your subscription. Thus, we need to reach out IRS to obtain this PIN again.

Hi Kelly,
I too have lost my pin. Were you able to contact the IRS and if so how? I've searched and am unable to find a way to contact them regarding this.
Thank you for any help you can provide,
Angela in CT
HI Angela,
I know this post was a long time ago, but were you able to retreive your 10 digit pin online or did you have to apply for a new one.
Thank you.
Linda
My Pin Number did not generate with the update that it did last to the payroll and not sure how to retrieve it.
I have call IRS direct and and I have my 4 digit Pin nr with them but they said that Intuit generated the 10 digit pin to file forms and I should contact Intuit. So here I am. I noted that you suggested to others on this chat to call IRS. I did that first and they could not help.

First, set up your federal filing method. I'll show you how:

I have full access right now to e-filing my 940/941, my 10-digit EFTPS PIN self populates no problem, but I am about to migrate from Desktop Premier to Online Plus and expect the password to be lost at that time.
Is there a way that I can actually see my 10-digit PIN before I migrate, to record it? Right now QB just shows **********. Is there a way to ask QB to show me a numerical view?
Hi there, @joseyf.
When migrating from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QuickBooks Online (QBO), preparing the 10-digit EFTPS PIN isn't needed. After migrating to QBO, you can file automatically and electronically or handle it yourself. For a complete guide, we recommend checking this article: Set up QuickBooks Online Payroll to pay and file your payroll taxes and forms.
If you wish to secure a copy of your EFTPS PIN, log in to the EFTPS website and request a new PIN. For more details, please see this page: Update your EFTPS internet password for QuickBooks Desktop Payroll.
On the other hand, we prepared this article about what to expect when migrating from QBDT to QBO: Learn about switching from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.

We need our 10 digit pin for our return. It populates as ******** and we need to actually see the number. Is there a way to do this in QB desktop?
I'm here to share some details about e-filing the forms, swttrbleone79.
The 10-digit PIN you obtained after enrolling in the IRS e-File Program is one of the requirements when e-filing tax forms. Also, the option to show the number is unavailable in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
Furthermore, you don't have to re-enroll if you have e-filed forms before using other channels or services. You can use the same 10-digit PIN to e-file in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). If you lost it, you'll need to contact the IRS to request the status of your application and retrieve it.
For more details during the enrollment, check this link: Set up E-file in QuickBooks Desktop.
Additionally, I've included these articles that'll guide you when you e-file your forms in QuickBooks.

The pin is saved in QB, so we do have it. However, I need to SEE what it is, so we can use it on our return. Is that possible or no?

Have a good day!
THis just happened to me as well but I did not upgrade to 2022. QB must have done something....
Thanks for joining the thread, @stregan. It's my priority to guide you with some troubleshooting steps to ensure your 10-digit payroll PIN auto-populates in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
Since you've not upgraded your subscription, it's possible that you've restored your company file, that's why your 10-digit e-file PIN isn't automatically populating. That said, I recommend re-entering it manually. If you no longer have access to your 10-digit PIN, you can reach out to the IRS to request a new one.
If the issue persists after re-entering it, we can repair your company file using the Rebuild Data tool. Here's how:
