Introducing the 2023 QuickBooks Developer Growth Program fall cohort

Over the last six months, a new program at Intuit QuickBooks has picked up steam with the goal of bringing more high-quality apps to the platform’s 5.9 million small business customers. The Developer Growth Program, initially started as a pilot last year, is now fully launched with five new QuickBooks app developers that make up our fall cohort.

The pilot cohorts worked closely with Intuit solution architects and UX designers, as well as an exclusive panel of accountants. The result? An outstanding lineup of high-quality apps that cater specifically to business owners and their needs.

The current cohort of the Developer Growth Program is underway, and with it comes a new group of application developers and accountant panelists. Over the course of six months, these developers will work closely with the Intuit Developers and Partners group to obtain valuable feedback on their applications and identify growth opportunities. Once the program is complete, each developer will have the opportunity to become a member of the Intuit Developer Council.

Intuit’s mission has always been to power prosperity around the world, and what better way to do that than by making the connection between improved app quality and customer satisfaction? Our team is committed to helping app developers grow their businesses while providing them with the best experience and tools to create innovative applications for accountants and business owners.

The fall cohort is working on some big goals so be sure to check out their apps in the QuickBooks App Store, and come back later to learn about a new batch of exciting applications participating in the Developer Growth Program in 2024.

Meet our cohort

Last season’s cohort was focused specifically on apps for accountants and mid-market customers in construction and manufacturing. The fall cohort has a small-business focus, with plans to complement QuickBooks Online with streamlined e-commerce and accounting tasks. Here are the application developers participating in the QuickBooks fall cohort.

A2X

For many businesses, correctly accounting for e-commerce is a real challenge, due to high volumes of transactions across different sales channels, countries, currencies, taxes, and more. That’s where A2X comes in. A2X posts users’ Shopify, Amazon, BigCommerce, Walmart, eBay, and Etsy sales and fees directly into QuickBooks Online. That data is then automatically sorted and aggregated to create summaries that match payments to the user’s bank account. The result? Increased financial visibility and more time for business owners to focus on growth and profitability.

ApprovalMax

ApprovalMax makes it easy for QuickBooks users to build robust financial controls across accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. Users are able to create multi-step, multi-role approvals for accounts payable. POs, bills, and expenses created outside of QuickBooks Online only enter the system after full authorization. Meanwhile, approval requests are routed based on QuickBooks Online data: vendor, amount, category, class, etc. A detailed audit trail is then automatically generated and attached to each authorized document before it gets pushed to QuickBooks. Business owners love that this integration simplifies the approval of purchase orders, bills, and invoices without relying on paper and email approvals.

Client Hub

Client Hub is built by accountants, for accountants. It’s an all-in-one practice management platform that’s designed to help users manage client communications and avoid missed deadlines. Accounting professionals can create and track internal and external workflows and tasks and share files securely. Waiting on a payment? Instantly send clients a “client task” to help resolve uncategorized expense and deposit transactions. It’s an easy way to communicate necessary information while creating a reliable paper trail.

Dext Prepare

Paper receipts and invoices may be annoying, but they’re also often unavoidable. That’s a problem, not just for record-keeping, but record-sharing. That’s where Dext Prepare comes in. Dext Prepare automatically collects invoices, receipts, and bills from over 1,400 suppliers and uses Superior Optical Character Recognition for paper digitization. All that data is then consolidated into a single platform, readily available for instant sharing with QuickBooks. It’s a simple solution, designed to streamline invoicing, expense management, and reporting.

VERIFYiQ

VERIFYiQ is an accounting practice management solution that saves users time and reduces confusion. The app uses quality control tools to enable on- and off-shore bookkeepers to run self-reviews that identify and correct 80% of the most common bookkeeping errors. Similarly, when integrated with QuickBooks, VERIFYiQ runs a diagnostic that catches all the most common errors. Team members are then able to fix those errors before submitting any QuickBooks files to a manager for review.

Meet our panelists

Special thanks to QuickBooks ProAdvisors Jeff Wilson and Helina Patience and Jacint Tumacder, a QuickBooks Online subject matter expert with Intuit. All three are participating in the program to provide guidance and feedback from an accountant perspective:
