My name is Silbia Ro. I am the owner and creative director of Camellia Fiber Company.

I hand-dye mill spun yarns or spin our own yarns in small batches for knitters, crafters, and dreamers. Our yarns are made with love from our studio in Nashville, Tennessee.

I took over this company five years ago not knowing anything about the industry. Being a BIPOC woman business owner is not easy, but I can’t imagine life without fibers anymore. The journey into the fiber world is different and unique to each person. It’s definitely a lifestyle—not a hobby.

I am learning and growing with the business.

Here I am testing natural dyes in the sink on merino wool. Natural dyes include Madder and Brazilwood. We offer both natural dyes and acid dyes in our shop. We like to think of them as different artistic mediums—like oil paint or watercolor paint. They’re both beautiful in their own way.
