QuickBooks Solopreneur builds upon the success of its predecessor, QuickBooks Self-Employed. It includes an easy-to-use suite of tools to help you understand where your business stands, manage your business seamlessly, and help you stay ready for tax time.

What is QuickBooks Solopreneur?

QuickBooks Solopreneur is a new and improved offering that helps address challenges faced by many self-employed businesses. It is intended for one-person businesses looking to organize and grow their business. It offers an easier setup and navigation than QuickBooks Self-Employed, an improved transaction management experience, tools to help drive growth, and Schedule C filing to seamlessly move from books to taxes, powered by TurboTax.


Can I still use QuickBooks Self-Employed?

If you're currently subscribed to QuickBooks Self-Employed, you can still continue your subscription, or you can upgrade to QuickBooks Solopreneur. New customers will be able to choose from our other products, including QuickBooks Solopreneur.

Built on QuickBooks’ expertise gained from serving self-employed business owners with QuickBooks Self-Employed, ​​QuickBooks Solopreneur provides an intuitive experience with added flexibility and productivity tools designed for the needs of one-person businesses. It provides access to other QuickBooks tools and services, including QuickBooks Payments, QuickBooks Checking, and more. Coming soon, customers will also be able to collaborate more easily with their accountants.

  • Tax experiences: QuickBooks Self-Employed enables the user to export data to TurboTax, while QuickBooks Solopreneur has a seamless books to tax experience with QuickBooks Live Tax. It is designed to save time and effort for Schedule C filers to get your taxes filed accurately with unlimited help for your current tax year return from live tax experts, powered by TurboTax.   • Payments, invoicing, and estimate features: With both QuickBooks Self-Employed and Solopreneur, you can create customized branded invoices. With QuickBooks Self-Employed and QuickBooks Payments, you have access to invoicing functionality that supports customer payments with credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and ACH. With QuickBooks Solopreneur and QuickBooks Payments, you’ll have updated payments functionality that enables simple payment requests and gives customers many ways to pay online: credit card, debit card, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, and ACH payments. QuickBooks Solopreneur also adds the ability to create customized estimates, in addition to customized invoices.
  • Transaction management features: Both QuickBooks Self-Employed and Solopreneur allow for separation of business and personal expenses. QuickBooks Solopreneur saves you time by automatically sorting your business and personal expenses, and you can easily review and recategorize as needed. No more manually separating expenses.
  • Banking features: QuickBooks Solopreneur integrates with QuickBooks Checking, a business bank account that is easy to open, has no monthly fees or minimums, provides industry-leading APY, and connects to QuickBooks Payments.

How do I move from QuickBooks Self-Employed to QuickBooks Solopreneur?

If you are a current QuickBooks Self-Employed customer who would like to move to QuickBooks Solopreneur, we can automatically migrate your subscription and much of your data to QuickBooks Solopreneur.
