Here’s what’s new in QuickBooks Online for October 2025

With October officially here, the air is crisp, leaves are changing colors, and it’s time to initiate any end-of-year procedures your business may need to complete. October is also Financial Planning Month, so here’s some sage advice on how to operate more strategically when it comes to your business’s finances. You can also track deeper financial insights by adding a structured approach to financial planning and analysis. Once your planning is underway, be sure to check out this month’s update.

New sale feature in QuickBooks mobile app

In a nutshell: You can now accept payments from the QuickBooks mobile app through a new sale—no invoice required.

The new sale feature is ideal for quick, transactional payments where an invoice may not be necessary. For increased efficiency and flexibility, you can simply enter the amount to charge your customer or pick a product or service from your saved items. This is launching as a phased rollout and will be fully available by November.

Invite your accounting firm to collaborate in QuickBooks Online

In a nutshell: In addition to the previous process to invite an accounting firm via email, you can now send an invite within QuickBooks Online using their firm ID.

When inviting your firm to collaborate on QuickBooks Online, you should feel confident this process will carry through properly, so you can collaborate with your accountant right away.

Rather than your invitation getting lost through technical issues, spam blockers, or the naturally limited visibility of an email message, you can now send an invite that your firm will see right inside their QuickBooks software.

Once your firm accepts your invitation, your QuickBooks Online account will connect with their tools in QuickBooks; no additional info needed.
