Connect QuickBooks to Claude

Adding QuickBooks to your Claude account takes three steps:

Step 1: Open your Claude.ai account and navigate to the Customize tab in the left sidebar.

Step 2: Click Connectors, search for "QuickBooks," and select the connector from the results.

Step 3: Click Connect and start asking questions about your business.

Connect QuickBooks to ChatGPT

Step 1: In ChatGPT, find Plugins in the left sidebar. Search for "Intuit QuickBooks" and click Connect Intuit QuickBooks.

Step 2: Sign in to your QuickBooks account or create one. You'll be returned to ChatGPT after signing in.

Step 3: From the Intuit QuickBooks plugin, click Start chat and put your business finances to work.

What's new: three major features

Sales: The full quote-to-cash loop, through conversation

From finding a customer to sending an invoice and payment links,* your sales workflow now runs through QuickBooks in Claude and ChatGPT. 

What you can do:

• Invoicing, end-to-end: Create, update, send, and delete invoices; pull invoices with filters; and duplicate an existing invoice as a starting point.
• Recurring invoices: Set up, update, pause/resume, and manage invoices that bill on a schedule.
• Sending invoice reminders: Send reminders on overdue invoices. 
• Estimates, end-to-end: Create, update, send, and delete estimates; duplicate to reuse; and bulk-fetch for review.
• Payment links: Generate a link for collection; filter and list existing links; email directly to customers.*
• Customer management: Create new customers with full contact details; search your list before invoicing.
• Products and services: Add new items to your catalog; search by description before building a line item.
• Transaction documents: Download any invoice or estimate as a PDF, ready for sharing or archiving.

These are complete done-for-you experiences. You can prompt “create an invoice for Acme Corporation for last week's consulting work,” review, and send it, all without leaving your conversation.

Payroll: Answers to your most common questions, without opening a report

New payroll tools are now available to QuickBooks customers in Claude and ChatGPT—new payroll Q&A tools that go beyond the payroll-planning support already available.

What you can ask:

• "Who's on payroll?"—employee lookup by name, full roster, and individual details.
• "How much did we pay an employee last week?"—payslip history with filters by employee, ID, and date range.
• "What benefits do we offer?"—company-wide deductions, benefits, and pay types.
• "What are our time-off policies?"—company accrual rules and time-off configurations.
• "Am I ready to run payroll?"—company’s payroll readiness status.

Capital: Lending intelligence that only QuickBooks can provide

QuickBooks Capital's peer loan benchmarking tool is now available in the QuickBooks connector in Claude and plugin in ChatGPT. It's the first time QuickBooks Capital data has been queryable through an external AI platform.

When you ask about lending options, you'll see anonymized, aggregated data based on the top 10% of QuickBooks businesses like yours. This is real data that helps you evaluate an offer, compare rates, and make a more confident financing decision.

Questions you can now ask:

• "What are businesses like mine borrowing through QuickBooks Capital, and at what rates?"
• "Is this APR normal for a company like mine?"
• "What loan amount do similar businesses typically get approved for?"
• “When is my next term loan payment due?”
