How do I add tags to a split deposit?

We have an online giving platform that makes deposits into our accounts. I split that deposit by donor and class. But I would also like to add a tag (Online Giving) to the entire deposit.

Good day, chase-gfwcampusm.

You need to add the tag first before dividing the transactions by class or donor, so you can assign it to the entire transaction.

If you have not set up your tags, let's turn it on in your company settings. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Tags.
  2. Click New in the right-hand corner to start setting up tags.
  3. Enter the name of the tag or group of tags, then click Save.

Then, start adding tags to the transactions. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu and proceed to the Banking tab.
  2. Look for the deposit that you want to add a tag and click on it.
  3. Go to the Tags field and enter the tag.
  4. Click the Split button to start dividing the amounts.

Check out these articles about this feature for more details:

You can also run a report to see how tagged transactions are performing. Here's how:

  1. Go back to the Tags tab under Banking.
  2. Look for the tag that you use.
  3. Click Run report.

You can always get back here and ask follow-up questions if you need more help with your banking transactions.
