How do i remove an account

Good day, palbutton.

In QuickBooks Online, we can only make an account inactive. This is to make sure that your data is still intact and accurate. You can follow these steps:

1. Go to the Accounting tab and select Chart of Accounts.
2. Locate the account you want to make inactive.
3. From the Action column, click on the drop-down arrow and select Make inactive.
4. Click Yes to confirm.

There are also default accounts in QuickBooks Online and we're unable to make them inactive. Please refer to this article on how to manage default and special accounts in your chart of accounts.
