Missing date/transactions from my Company file

I am using QB Desktop Pro 2021 for multiple companies. Today I opened a company file and all transaction data from 7/1/2024 - 12/31/2024 is missing. 2025 data is there. When I last worked in the file a couple of weeks ago, all was well. I have tried Rebuild, File Doctor and Tool Hub - all to no avail. The Auto Data Recovery folder is empty. I restored two previous backups and the

Please note that QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2021 has already reached its end-of-support period, it no longer receives updates, bug fixes, security patches, or compatibility improvements, potentially increasing the risk of software bugs, file corruption, and performance issues over time.

 

Since QuickBooks Pro 2021 is unsupported upgrading to a newer, supported version of QuickBooks is strongly recommended to avoid recurring issues, as supported versions provide regular updates, improved reliability, and access to technical assistance in case of problems.

 

Then, make sure that you've opened the latest backup copy of your file and your QBDT is updated to the latest release. If you're unsure where the backup file is located, you can display hidden files and folders for help in searching for the .qbb file on your computer. You'll have to look at each file, the largest file is likely to have the most data. Once done, restore this copy.

Run the Verify/Rebuild Data utility. Any unresolved error messages?

Next troubleshoot, install the trial version of Desktop 2024 Enterprise. Did you encounter the same problem?

Thank you, SIAB for your response.

I have run the Verify/Rebuild numerous times. The first time I received Error 179, Warning: totTrans wrong. Is 2745 should be 2747.

I have come to the conclusion that the issue must be the QB program itself as I opened another company file today and received a similar result - missing data for a number of months. Hours and hours of work. Client information that is vital.

I am at my wits end and am not in a position to purchase a 1 yr subscription to any of the QB products.

Have you installed the Desktop 2024 trial version to isolate the problem?

If you don't have any issues in 2024, you can fix the issue in 2021.
