Ability to attach PDF copies

QBDT Pro 2023: 

In the Customer Profile, is it possible to upload a scanned copy of a Sales Tax Resale permit so that in audit one is readily available?

 

In the same way, for the Vendor Profile, is it possible to upload a scanned copy of the W-9 form to show type of organization and the tax ID? This would best be uploaded to the Tax tab of the Profile.

 

I realize that it is possible to attach a scanned copy of a document to an invoice from a vendor, but that is only a step in the right direction. Is there a version of QB that does allow more items to be attached to a Profile?

 

And yes, I know I could submit this as an enhancement suggestion, but it would be helpful if more than just one user submitted a suggestion. How do we, as users, get a louder voice with Intuit?

I can share some information about adding attachments to customers' and vendors' profiles in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), @Deadwood Al.

 

Yes, you can upload a scanned file to your customers' and vendors' profiles in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). There's no restriction on the type of file that can be attached. It's available on all versions of QuickBooks Desktop. 

 

Here's how: 

 

  1. Go to the Customers or Vendors menu.
  2. Select Vendor Center or Customer Center. 
  3. Click on the customer's or vendor's profile, and select the Attach icon beside the Customer/Vendor Information. 
  4. Follow the prompts to finish uploading your scanned documents. 
  5. Click on Done to save your file. 

 

From here, you can go to the Doc Center from the Company menu to view your attached files. The attachments will be saved in the Attach folder which is in the same location as your company file.
