Is anyone having issues with the SunTrust to Truist change?

Hi there, @frankvin.

If you're having issues with downloading transactions from the bank due to a change of its name, I'd suggest waiting for them to return the connection. Alternatively, you can get transactions from your bank and upload them to QuickBooks Online manually.

SunTrust Bank merged with Branch Banking and Trust Company, a North Carolina banking corporation ("BB&T") and the combined bank is now known as Truist Bank ("Truist"). You can also reach to your bank about this update via the online banking website and see bank notifications. You can reference this pdf link for more information about the change: Truist Disclosure.

Once your online banking entries are uploaded/downloaded in QuickBooks you can then match and categorize them and reconcile them afterwards.

Thank you for joining us here in the Community. There is no reported issue specific to SunTrust Bank about not being able to update their account. It could be your bank may still be working on its accounts with the merging process. You can try connecting again in a few days. In the meantime, you can upload transactions, so you can continue working on them.

Once transactions are downloaded, you'll have to review and categorize them to the existing entries in QBO. This way, you can keep your account updated. You can refer to this article to the step-by-step guide: Categorize and match the transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Also, I'd recommend reconciling your SunTruist accounts every month. This will help you monitor your income/expenses and detect any possible errors accordingly. You can check out this article for the detailed steps: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

All of a sudden no ability to connect QBO to SunTrust Business Online Banking? Says the account doesn't exist... Yet I can sign into the SunTrust Website directly same as always?!?!?! Last connection was Friday March 5th??? Anyone??

There are no reported cases about not being able to connect SunTrust Business Online Banking to QuickBooks. I want to you'll get your account connected seamlessly.

There are lots of possible reasons why bank account is not connecting with QuickBooks. Here are the following:

The bank is performing system maintenance.
There are notifications from their website that need your attention.
Some banks have multiple names on our list. You might want to check and select the correct one or try all possible links.
The bank may not be a participating bank. You can contact the bank to request they establish a relationship with Intuit.

First, I recommend logging in to your bank's website to review any alerts that need your attention. Once signed in, perform the following steps:

Review your account page for messages, notifications, or alerts.
Check your bank’s website for any announcements.

Then, go back to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account to perform a manual update. Updating an account refreshes the connection between your bank and QuickBooks.

Here's how:

Go to the Banking menu.
Select Update.
Enter your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) credentials.
Click Continue update.

If there are changes to your bank's website, update your bank information in QBO as well to match the account's details.

Go to the Banking menu, select the blue tile for your bank.
Click the Edit (Pencil) icon.
Choose Edit sign-in info.
Update your details.

Suntrust accounts had not updated since 3/25/21. I reconciled to that date, then disconnected. I reconnected and brought transactions back since 3/25/21. Update works now.

Downloading QB info crashes QB every time. Also, you can't access Truist business banking check pay via Safari.

I agree with that post. each time I download it looks like it is working and then it crashes repeatedly. how to fix? This is quickbooks DESKTOP

If you're having issues with syncing transactions from the Truist Bank in QBDT. I'd recommend refreshing the connection of your account in QuickBooks. This way, your current data will flow in the bank feeds. Here's how:

Go to the Banking menu.
Select Bank Feeds.
Click the Bank Feeds Center.
Choose your Truist account and click the Refresh icon a couple of times.

How do I get a suntrust pin for truist?

The Truist Primary account holder, also called the Account Admin or Business Administrator is the person who can set up PINs.

NOTE: Only the Admin has permission to download transactions & view statements. For all secondary account users , Truist by default, unchecked the statement access box for all of these Users. Quickbooks uses this "permission" as a validation for the .QBO file when importing. How to correct this is by having the Admin sign in to Truist, Find Business Admin. Click User Name then View. Custom Access control is for each User, make sure the Statements box is checked for your Login ID. Click Submit. User can then login & download the .qbo file to manually import in Qucikbooks.

Remember transactions dated from Suntrust (prior to 02/21/22) has a OFX coding errors which need to be modified before importing ( see OL-222 fix I posted a few days ago.)

Has anyone been able to check the transmit memo box so the info on the memo line will upload and print on the checks since the merger? I can enter info on the memo line but am unable to check the box so it will transmit.

I'll make sure that you'll be able to mark check the memo box to transmit the data.

Normally, you should be able to check mark the memo box. To isolate the issue, you can perform some basic troubleshooting steps to fix the issue. There are times that the stored temporary internet files cause strange behaviors, like missing interfaces in the program.

You can start by signing in to your QuickBooks company using a private window. This mode doesn't save your browsing history and site data. Here are the shortcut keys:

For Firefox or Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
For Safari, press Command + Shift + N.

If you're now able to tick the memo box, go back to your regular browser and then clear its cache to enhance your browsing experience. Alternatively, you can switch to other different browsers.
