Mileage tracking just stops frequently

The mileage tracking stopped working August 31st, again. This happens at least once or more every year. I have not changed any setting in my phone. All the necessary and recommended settings are enabled and have never changed. The function just won’t ever start. I have to manually start the tracker before my drives. This is hard to remember because QB(when it’s working) will just auto track for me so I typically don’t have to think about it. What do I do to get it working again? I’ve lost months of drives and have lost faith in the reliability
