MileIQ CSV upload issue self-employed

Hi,

I've been having an issue for a while trying to upload my MileIQ files to quickbooks, I've been through agents on quickbooks and mileiq and still not much help.

So I get my monthly report of my tracked miles through MileIQ which is sent as a XLS file then I have to convert it to CSV for Quickbooks which doesn't upload and I get the https://uk.selfemployed.intuit.com/secure/mileIq/import: 400 OK error

then I got sent a format from the Quickbooks agent which uploads successfully but doesn't include any of my destinations and when I try to add different dates for my different monthly reports it removes half of them as duplicates.

I tried speaking to MileIQ to see if they can send me a straight CSV format for Quickbooks but apparently that is only available to US customers. So I'm pretty stuck on what I can do here any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

Hello there, jacksalvage.

Our product engineers are currently investigating about the 400 OK error when importing miles into QuickBooks Self-Employed. They are working to identify the cause and looking for a resolution to this issue.

I'd suggest getting in touch with us again so we can add your account to the notification list. Updates are sent via email. To contact support, check out this link.

Meantime, you can add your miles manually. Let me show you how:

  1. Select the Miles menu and click Add trip at the upper-right.
  2. Enter the distance in the Add miles field.
  3. Add the details and select Save.

You can also check out these articles that will help you handle and record trips:

Thanks for your patience while we are continually working on resolving this issue. If there's anything else that you need help with you can always mention me in your reply. You take care!

Agreed. I do not want to manually enter the journey history retrospectively. I might as well not have an auto tracker if im doing that. Please share a working example of a CSV file.

Thanks for actively replying in this thread, @-restorativepodi.

Allow me to share a working example of a CSV file.

To successfully populate and import your miles via the CSV file in QuickBooks Self-Employed, make sure the "Notes' column is blank. Also, check the date format, remove the time beside it, or any unwanted symbols.

You can also check these details:

  • Ensure there aren't zeros or extra characters from the file to prevent import issues.
  • Please add at least one vehicle before importing.
  • Only Business Trips will be imported.
  • Check for duplicate trips. QuickBooks will ignore them.

Then make sure that the .XLS file is saved as a CSV file:

  1. In the Excel spreadsheet window, select the File menu.
  2. Choose Save As and then select a folder to store the file.
  3. In the Save as type drop-down, select CSV (Comma delimited).
  4. Hit Save.

Once converted, please follow the steps to move the file:

  1. In QuickBooks, go to the Miles menu.
  2. Click the Add trip drop-down arrow and choose Import MilesIQ trips.
  3. Select the Browse button to locate your CSV file and then follow the on-screen instructions.

When finished, categorize the imported trips to ensure organized data. You can proceed to Step 2 for the detailed steps of this article: Switch from MileIQ to QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Furthermore, I've added this article that includes steps on how to record your self-employed income and expenses and prepare your Schedule C: Schedule C and expense categories.

Feel free to get back here if you have other concerns with uploading or importing CSV files to your QBSE account. Assistance is ready to be served here. Take care and have a great day!

Hi, I am using a sheet formatted as you suggested and I get a header error message? I have even changed the date format to US in case it is something odd like that? I am using QB in the UK. Cheers, Paul
