At the moment, importing payroll data to QuickBooks Online isn’t possible. You may consider entering your payroll information via journal entries as a workaround.

Here’s an illuminating guide that shows an example of how to do it within the program: Recording payroll transactions manually. Please know that this article is for QuickBooks International users. But the instructions can also work for the United States (US) account.

You can also utilize a third-party app like the Data Importer app to easily upload your payroll check to your current company file. Check out our QuickBooks App Center, or go to your Apps menu to look for this tool.

Here’s how:

1. Open your QuickBooks account.
2. Go to your Apps menu.
3. Enter "Importer" on the Search field, then select the app.
4. You can click the Overview, Pricing, Reviews, and FAQs to view more details.
5. Select Get app now.
