Buy nowI have spreadsheets I have been using to track income and expenses for my general contracting business. I have been told there is a way to export those into QB so I don't have to re-key everything.
I cannot figure out how to do this.
Looking for help setting up the proper columns for exporting into QB or importing Excel files into QB
Is there a sample template I could see that would show how to set up the export/import?
I have the following columns for Labor:
Date | Payee | Project Name | Amount | Bank Account
I have the following columns for Materials:
Date | Payee | Project Name | Amount | Bank Account
What do those headings need to be for QB and are there any special codes or characters I need to use?
Thank you!

Hello there, @VS-MD.
QuickBooks Online can only export and import lists, like Chart of Accounts, Vendor lists, Customer lists, Bank data, Invoices, and Product and Services list. At this time, there isn't an integrated way to transfer other data like transactions and setup information.

To import the data:
Here's a helpful article that you can read on for more details: Common questions about importing data to QuickBooks Online.
Also, QuickBooks requires you to enter the acceptable characters to avoid any server errors or other problems in the application. For more details, see this article: Acceptable characters in QuickBooks Online.
On the other hand, you may also wish to consider looking to see if there's a third-party app that would be able to assist you with export/import transactions to QBO. These apps can be searched at the following website: apps.intuit.com. You can also do this inside your company, just go to Apps on the left panel and then enter a keyword in the search field.
