Using payroll crashes quickbooks

For at least a month now, anytime I do anything in payroll it crashes and shuts down quickbooks entirely. I have done everything recommended online. I have used "fix my file", "tool hub" and rebuild data (which won't even work). I have closed, reopened and restarted everything! ANY SUGGESTIONS???? Please help!!

We understand that you rely on QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for efficient payroll management, and crashes like these can cause delays, @SCPSAL. Let’s work together to get this resolved.

Beforehand, I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you’ve already taken to address your concern. Please note that the Fix My File and Rebuild Data tools are specifically for resolving QuickBooks data-related problems. However, since your issue involves the program crashing, I recommend performing a quick repair on QuickBooks and running the Diagnostic Tool to identify and resolve any installation-related errors you may be encountering.

Here's how:

Run Quick Fix my program

  1. Open the QuickBooks Tool Hub and click on Program Problems.
  2. Choose Quick Fix my Program from the options.
  3. Launch QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file.

Run the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool

  1. Open the QuickBooks Tool Hub and go to Installation Issues.
  2. Click on the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool and let it run.
  3. Once the tool finishes, restart your computer.
  4. Open QuickBooks Desktop and select your data file.
  5. Update QuickBooks to the latest release to ensure you have the newest fixes and security updates.

You can review this resource for a more detailed step-by-step guide: Repair your QuickBooks Desktop for Windows.

If the issue persists, I suggest reaching out to our Live Support team during their available hours. They can help identify your concern and provide further assistance to resolve it.

Please let us know if you have additional questions. We're here to help.

@SCPSAL

Run the Verify/Rebuild Data utility again. Any unresolved error messages?

I ran the verify data. But it will not run the rebuild data.

Had the same problem on multiple workstation PC's for months.  Login as User #A and no problem, login to same PC and same QuickBooks file as User #B and QB crashes.

Used Solution 1 from the below link and the problem has been solved on all workstations / PCs
