Question

Any one else still having issues with Melio?

Had high hopes for doing payments right from quickbooks but after a few weeks of testing my experience so far with their processor Melio has been super disappointing.

Overall the integration seems very clunky and common sense fields like "check delivery address" do not automatically populate over to Melio.

Worse than the integration though has been the customer service which  is only active during EST business hours and they are overall not responsive enough via chat.

The major issue I am having right now is an error message every time I try to re-initiate payment for a vendor whose initial ACH payment bounced back due to some error in their account info.

Also funds to cover that ACH payment were drawn from our payor business account 17 days ago still but have not been refunded back to the account even though the payment did not go through.

At this point I'm afraid that Melio does not meet the standards of the other apps that Quickbooks has integrated into the platform and may be un-usable after putting in a lot of time to make it work.

YES, ACH payments are taking 5-6 days, ur vendors are questioning it. In October - Mass scheduling integration from QuickBooks Online stopped working. I’ve logged 2 support tickets with Eli up - n answer it’s been 2 weeks. We switched from our bank check and ACH processing t elio, because the enhanced admin functionality saves USA lot of time. Now we’re wearing if that was a mistake, since we are just beginning to get customer complaints about times to deposit.

No quite sure why both Quickbooks and Melio Support are not responding to me at all. Melio integration is QB Online stopped working and ACH deposits are taking a very long time 5-6 days. Really need to get help from someone

I'd like to mention a couple of things, as I've had a fair number of interactions with Melio.  Fortunately, the severity of my issues have paled next to some that I've read here.  Anyway, I've reached them through two different addresses, "[email address removed]" (identified as "QBO Bill Pay Support"), and "[email address removed]" (identified as "Melio Support").  The latter seems to be most often associated with automatic responses.

1. There have been times where they've taken a while to get back to me - however, when they have, they've always been extremely thorough in addressing my issues - even to the point of getting back to me after the fact to see if everything has been resolved.  It's been quality support - but I'm guessing they're extremely under-staffed, like maybe somebody under-estimated the scope of taking on QBO.  (personally, I can understand why few people might want that job!)

2. Try out the Meliopayments.com site.  You don't even need to sign up for it - just use the "log in with Intuit".  If you're logged into QBO, you'll get right in.  It'll be shocking to see how differently everything is set up - it's a sleeker interface, but different enough in some aspects that it can be hard to find everything.  But so far I've found any info that's available in Melio within QBO.  The Bills and Payments also coordinate with QBO just as they do within QBO.  I've been going back and forth - using one when I hit a roadblock with the other.  I still haven't determined which one I prefer, though I'm leaning toward the meliopayments.com site.

Regarding comment 1.  I have NEVER had a satisfactory prompt reply from Melio.  Frankly, I do not have days to wait for Melio support to "look into a matter".

YES  it sucks.  it won't sync  Sync just keeps rotating and now when I try and schedule the payment I get to Bill Pay is loading and then nothing.  I have been dealing with this since Monday, 4 days with chat and no resolution.  QB you need to get them going or I am another one that will be looking elsewhere.  I've used quickbooks desktop since 2008 with very few problems, but now????????????????

@BobM

Are you still using QB Desktop or QB Online now?

I would stay as far away from using Melio as a bill pay option as possible.  Their "chat" support is not at all useful.  I believe your funds are also not secure, as vendors can apparently change method of payment without your knowledge.  This opens the possibility of a vendor employee directing funds to a bank account other than the vendors.  Don't laugh, it happened to me.  If the funds are not recovered, Melio says so sad, so bad, we are not responsible for fraudulent acts of a vendor. Allowing anyone other than yourself to direct how payments are made is inappropriate in my humble opinion. They will not even release information as to where the funds went with out a subpoena. "We asked for the money back, if receiving bank does nothing in thirty days, too bad." Most annoying dog and pony show I have ever experienced.  Fortunately, the funds misdirected from my account and never recovered were not overly material.  Live and learn.

How can anyone take Melio seriously when they don't even provide a field for customer ID/account number in the vendor address/profile.  Unbelievable.

Intuit should be embarrassed and ashamed to be associated with an entity like Melio.

I use the QBO Bill Pay feature to pay our contractors.  It uses Melio, of course, to do the bank transfers.  No problems untill today when suddenly QBO doesn't seem to connect with Melio.  Spoke with QB customer service for about an hour.  The best she could do was send me a link to bill.com and told me to try that until Melio connection was fixed.  But I actually tried going to Melio directly at https://app.meliopayments.com/.  It asked if I wanted to use my Intuit info to automatically connect to my QBO data (probably via cookies in the browser), and all my contractors bill showed up in the Melio UI.  It had all their bank info and alowed me to pay everyone the same way I do it in QBO!.  Then all the payments automatically showed up in QBO!  So this looks like it's potentially a good workaround for the crapy connection from within the QBO Bill Pay.

Maybe one day Intuit will get all this fixed so we have a solid system to handle actual financial transactions.

@AMRoC_Fab_Lab

You are correct. Signing up for a separate Melio account is a workaround when you encounter issue with Online Billpay feature. As an additional perk, you can get $100 as cashback to pay your first bill with credit card. T&C apply.

we are as of today no longer using Melio. The latest in a long string of terrible errors is their sending a check to a vendor that was unsigned - in addition to being drawn on the now-defunct Silicon Valley Bank. Their inability to track outstanding checks, and in a different issue, track that a check has been deposited is intolerable. We've given them so many chances. We're out.

If you are using QBO, explore this one to replace Melio

we are desktop. quickbooks apparently has nothing to offer us.

Hello Robert,

The paper check option using Melio was OK when I started using them in 2022.  It was around two weeks for the paper check to arrive via USPO.  However this year is has extended to around a month's time for the check to arrive.  If my paper check vendor does not recieve the check in three weeks I chat with Melio asking for a check stop and refund.  I then just give the vendor a CC on the phone.  The ACH part of Melio is a great solution, however I still have a handfull of vendors who are weary of giving out route and acct numbers.

If you are using Melio, you have 2 options to pay with check

1. Fast checks are sent in 3 days via FedEx,

2. USPS’s regular delivery time is 5-7 days.

If a bill payment is important, I would recommend to choose Fast check option. It costs $20.

We have a had a nightmare trying to get our failed payment to be resolved. The funds were withdrawn but the vender did not receave the payment. Ended up sending a check to the vendor.

After 2 weeks of calls with QB we discovered the service is Melio. Many attempts of getting someone at Melio to help but with zero sucsess.  I am very confused as to why QB is so clueless on how the bill pay system works and why it took 2 weeks of calling to finally get someone to inform us that the service is not QB but Melio?

How can you pay for a bill pay service and not have any customer support? Melio and QB have zero

At this point I have no idea how to get my funds returned.
