Buy nowYes, striketreeservic. QuickBooks Online (QBO) allows your customers to approve estimates. I'm here to share insights about this option and lay down the steps to achieve this.
Currently, QBO offers a new layout for estimates, which allows your clients to review and approve the transaction once they receive it in their email.
Let's switch to the new interface to use this feature. Here's how:
Once your customer receives the estimate, they can approve and accept it. For visual reference, please see the attached screenshot below.
If the option to use the new experience is unavailable, you'll need to wait for the full release. The rollout for this feature has already started for Simple Start and Essential users. All Plus and Advanced will be migrated beginning on May 6th.
In addition, there are some changes in the new experience for estimates. To learn more about this, check out this article: See what is new with estimates and invoices in QuickBooks Online.
Finally, once your customer accepts the transaction, you can directly convert it to an invoice for accurate tracking. QuickBooks automatically fills in the info from the information on the estimate.
This thread is always open if you need additional assistance creating and sending estimates to your clients. My team and I are ready to assist you anytime.
Hi, striketreeservi
Hope you're doing great. I wanted to see how everything is going about sending estimates to your customers with the Approval and Accept button you had two days ago. Was it resolved? Do you need any additional help or clarification? If you do, just let me know. I'd be happy to help you at any time.
Looking forward to your reply. Have a pleasant day ahead!
Does this feature only work with Online Quickbooks?
Is there a feature for Desktop?
Is there a method whereby an email can be sent when a customer accepts an estimate?
Hi, @LeadITConsulting. Yes, QuickBooks Online (QBO) provides a way to send notifications when a customer accepts an estimate. However, this requires adjusting specific settings or utilizing an alternative solution.
If you have a QBO Advanced subscription, you can use the Workflows feature to automatically send emails to team members, such as a Project Manager, when an estimate is accepted.
Here’s how to set it up:
For more detailed information, please refer to this article: Use workflows to automate your business processes.
Additionally, you can explore third-party integrations that provide immediate, automated alerts via SMS or email. This can help reduce delays and streamline the approval-to-invoice workflow as an alternative solution.
