Buy nowGood day, @userkristen2. I'll share some details with regard to creating projects in the QuickBooks Online mobile app and will give you a workaround for you to still achieve your goal.
The option to create a project in the QuickBooks Online mobile app is unavailable. This is because it's a simplified version of the actual QuickBooks Online software.
However, you can log in to your QBO account using a web browser on your device and create a project from there.
Here's how:
For additional details about the process, please refer to this article: How can I set up and create projects in QBO?.
I'd also suggest you send a feedback to our product developers for this feature in QuickBooks Online to help improve your experience.
Here's how:
You can visit our QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website to track the status of your submitted feedback.
In case you would like to run a report in the future, you can refer to this article: Run reports in QuickBooks Online. It's not just that you can also customize your report in QuickBooks Online.
If I answered your concern for today, and if you have any other clarification, feel free to get back. I'll be around. Enjoy your day!
Thanks for your help. Is there a way to convert a customer to a project? Or do I need to delete all transactions associated with it and then redo?
I have here the steps to convert sub-customer to project,@userkristen2.
Converting sub-customers to projects is possible in QuickBooks Online Advanced. Here's what you'll do:
First, make sure that the Project feature is turned on every time you convert or merge a sub-customer to an existing project.
1. Select Settings ⚙, then select Account and settings.
2. Go to the Advanced tab.
3. Find the Projects section and select Edit ✎ to expand it.
4. Select the Organise all job-related activity in one place checkbox.
5. Select Save and close your settings.
If you already have an existing sub-customer and project, you can merge them. This transfers your existing sub-customer transactions to an existing project:
1. Select the Projects menu.
2. Find the project you want to merge your sub-customer with.
3. Copy the name of the project.
4. Go to the Sales menu and then select the Customers tab.
5. Find and open the sub-customer.
6. Select Edit.
7. In the edit window, change the Display name to match the project name exactly.
8. When you're ready, select Save and Yes to confirm the merge.
I'm including a few articles with detailed information for changing sub-customers into projects:
