Buy nowI need to manually enter accountant's changes on desktop pro. The file sent will not work because the accountants copy restrictions were removed prior to entering the changes. So I will need to enter each change manually. Anyone know how to do this?
What kind of file did your accountant send to you? QBB, XLS, QBY, or else?
How can I tell what kind of file it is? The file shows Quickbooks Accountant Transfer File.
Also, I should mention, the changes could not be entered because the restirctions were removed before entering the changes via file.
It shows this on file property: QuickBooks Accountant Transfer File (.QBX)
I did the same thing and removed the restriction before receiving the accountants changes and now need to manually enter the changes. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi there, lisapoling.
Thank you for posting in the Community. I'm here to help share some information about an accountant's copy in QuickBooks.
If you haven’t already, back up your company file so you have a save point. However, If you use QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise, turn off any Advanced Inventory features you're currently using. You'll turn them back on after you import the changes.
1. In QuickBooks Desktop, go to the File menu at the top and then select Send Company File.
2. Select Accountant's Copy and then click the Client Activities.
3. If your accountant sent you their changes in an Accountant’s Changes file, select Import Accountant Changes from File. Browse the file from your computer. It should have a .qby extension at the end of the filename.
Note: If your accountant used the Accountant's Copy File Transfer Service. Follow the onscreen steps to Import Accountant’s Changes from Web.
If you have questions about the process, I recommend consulting your account.
Please post here in the Community again to share your other QuickBooks-related concerns. We'll help you out!
I need to manually enter the accountant changes since I have already removed the accountant restrictions.
