Hello,
Is there a way to do a quick report for all purchase orders by purchase order description?
There is no column to add in reports that pulls up this field.
Thanks,
Ben Butler

Hi, @bbutler1.
You can create a custom report of your purchase orders, then add the Memo column to look for them by descriptions. I can help on how.
The PO descriptions are added under the Memo column.
For more tips about customizing the data or information on your report/s, you can open this article: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.
Also, here's how you can save the settings/customization of your report for future use.

Thank you Angelyn!
Hi Angelyn,
I found that for purchase order with a different name and source name, this report works.
But for purchase orders that have the same name and source name, the memo field is pulling from the bottom left memo field on the purchase order.
Any idea how to get the description for ALL purchase orders?
Thanks,
B
Let me add some information on how to search Purchase Orders by Descriptions with the same name and source, bbutler1.
As mentioned by @Angelyn_T, the only way to do this is to create a custom report and add the details either on the description or memo field. The steps were clearly provided above.
You can also look for a third-party app that supports the feature and works well in QuickBooks.

I have QB Premier Contractor Edition and am not able to search PO's by Job or Part Number. Is there a way to turn this application on? I have the Purchase Order Reports under the Reporting Segment, but no transactions appear
Hi there, beiland.
I'll help you in running that report.
Please know that QuickBooks has a built-in report that can show all the purchase orders you've created for each job. I'll show you how to pull it up:
With regards to the part number, this option is currently unavailable in the program. I also think that having this type of filter will help you speed up the reporting process. Rest assured, I'll take note of this idea to help improve your QuickBooks experience.
In the meantime, you'll want to consider exporting your customized Open Purchase Orders by Job report to an Excel file. This way, you'll be able to further sort and filter its data.
I also recommend reading these articles to ensure that you'll get the most out of QuickBooks reporting capabilities:
