We have several deleted transactions and are hoping to see the payments associated with them will the audit trail do this or some other tool?
I’m happy to have you here in the Community, @Kathy021.
Let me give you insights and guidelines about utilizing the audit trail in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
The audit trail report contains all activities initiated within your company file. It also includes transactions that were being deleted. However, the option to check the payment associated with it is unavailable.
Nonetheless, we can still manage to track the payment manually. Thus, we can look for that transaction from the report, then compare it to your real-life bank statement. Here’s how you can pull up the Audit Trail report:
Once done, let’s get your bank statement and locate the payment. Please take note to get the correct dates and transactions to ensure everything matches.
On the other hand, if you have a backup file before the transaction got deleted, you might want to restore this to easily view the payment associated with it. To figure out the file from your computer or external storage, you can take note that this file has a .qbb extension at the end of the file name: Restore a backup of your company file
In addition, learn to customize the report based on your preferences by browsing this article.
