Updating Multiple Time Entries Imported from TSheets

Recently discovered that an employee's QB hourly cost rate had not been correctly updated.  Made the update so future time entries will be correct for project cost.  I now have months of time entries with the incorrect hourly cost for a couple of projects they were on.  Anyone know of a way to either:

1. Adjust the cost update active date so that it is before those time entries (thus retroactively fixing them).

OR 2. Export/Import all of the time entries for a given project so that I can update them all at once.

Trying to avoid clicking on the individual entries to fix them.

Thanks!

Updating Multiple Time Entries Imported from TSheets

Welcome to QuickBooks Online, @tkemo596. I can share some information about importing time sheets into QuickBooks Online.

Timesheets can be imported from CSV files using this timesheet import tool. Most timesheet formats can be imported as long as the following conditions are met.

See the following conditions below:

  • The file must be in CSV (comma separated) or TSV (tab separated) format.
  • There may only be one timesheet entry per line.
  • Each timesheet line requires, at a minimum,
  • Date/Time Start/End or Date + Units
  • Employee

If there were errors in the previous import, timesheets can be replaced . This may not be replaced if they are included in a pay run.

The following are the prerequisites for each of the sample timesheet import formats:

  • There is an employee with an external ID of MM (Mickey Mouse).
  • There is another employee with an external ID of DD (Donald Duck).
  • There is a location with an external ID of SYD.
  • There is another location with an external ID of BRIS.
  • There is a work type with an external ID of STD.

Sample Timesheet Formats:

timesheet-import-format-A.xlsx
timesheet-import-format-B.xlsx
timesheet-import-format-C.xlsx

Additionally, please refer to this article for more information about timesheets using QuickBooks Time.

Updating Multiple Time Entries Imported from TSheets

I'm not needing to import time.  I'm needing to update the cost associated with each time sheet entry.  We have each group or employee (depending on need) setup as a service.  That service has a given bill rate and internal cost based on salary and overhead.  The bill rate was updated correctly, but the cost rate was not.  The result is that my current projects cost is incorrect based on the incorrect COST allocated due to each hour billed to the project.  As you can see from the attachment - the hours/cost/billable amount are all incorrect.  The input to this is daily time entries that came across from TSheet/QBTime.  I'm looking for a way to correct all of these for a give service rate/employee rather than expanding and opening each entry to correct it as there are 100s of them.
