Efiling Form 1099 NEC

Is there a charge to efile Form 1099 NEC through Quickbooks?  I do not want to send the forms to contractors through QB, just submit the information to the IRS.

Efiling Form 1099 NEC

Hi there, Ke-ri.

I'm here to share information with you how 1099 e-fing works.

When you opt for the 1099 E-File Service, Intuit will electronically file your Federal 1099 details with the IRS and send a printed copy to your contractors through mail. Please note that charges are applicable for this service. Additionally, as part of the 1099 E-File Service, your contractors can access their 1099s online. However, please be aware that state filing is not included in this service. Therefore, it is recommended that you verify with your state agency about any state filing requirements.

For more details about the plans and pricing when e-filing 1099, visit this site: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/payroll/1099-efile/.

Additionally, I've included these articles that'll help you learn more about preparing and filing 1099 forms in QuickBooks:

Fill me in if you have other 1099 concerns or questions. I'll get back to help and make sure you're taken care of.

Thank you for your information.  I was informed that there is no charge if I elect to print and send the 1099 to contractors myself, but Efile the forms to the IRS through QB.

In theory you can print the 1099s from QBO.

In reality, if you require adjusting the print alignment for 1099s.. you can't. The current QBO platform doesnt offer this option - they used to - and removed it.

I have just wasted over 3 hours trying to print my own 1099s only to discover I cannot as I cannot align print.

So save yourself time and use the QBO efile instead of attempting to print.

QBO completely ruined our ability to print them ourselves. Thanks Intuit.
