Question

Reconciling discrepancy is equal to change in account balance

I lead a charitable organization and we are preparing to submit our income taxes.

I have triple-checked all the transactions.  I tried many times to Reconcile and it tells me there is a discrepancy.   But the interesting thing is the discrepancy is equal to the total change in the ending balances What am I doing wrong.  I have the same problem with two different accounts.

Thanks

Hello there, @DaleLong

Thanks for visiting the Community. Let's first check the discrepancy report to see what's causing this error. Here's how:

  1. From the Reports menu, select Banking Reconciliation Discrepancy.
  2. Choose the appropriate account, then select OK.
  3. Review the report to identify any discrepancies.

Find the transactions that cause this issue by going to the Audit Trail Report to see the transaction's history details. Here's an article for a reference: Fix Reconciliation Discrepancies
