Question

Is anyone else having issues with updating basic profile information?

I was sent a link to update and after sending me through multiple rounds of "identification verification" it claimed it couldn't access the camera hardware in my phone. Is there no other way for me to complete this verification?

This error occurs when the mobile app opens an in-app web view that lacks system permissions to access your device's camera. To fix this, enable camera permissions in your phone's settings. Before we go further, could you specify which basic information you are trying to update in the QuickBooks Online mobile app or Intuit account?

To enable the permissions, follow these steps:

Android:

  1. Open your phone’s Settings.
  2. Locate the QuickBooks Online app. If you do not see it, tap See all apps first.
  3. Select Permissions, then Camera.
  4. Choose Allow.

iOS:

  1. Open your phone’s Settings.
  2. Locate the QuickBooks app.
  3. Set Camera access to On by choosing Allow Full Access.

After updating your settings, try updating your profile information to see if the identity verification goes through. If the issue persists, consider uninstalling and reinstalling the app to refresh its connection to your phone's system settings, then repeat the previous steps.
