I can share some information about closing your PAYE scheme, @isabel-bidwellac.
You can use the HMRC's basic PAYE tools to close your PAYE scheme. To guide you with the process, refer to the following link: https://www.gov.uk/basic-paye-tools.
See this article for more information about submitting your payroll tax information to HMRC: Turn on RTI reporting to HMRC in QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll.

hi i have just spoken to HMRC and they said I should be able to close the scheme on QB's ?
Hi isabel-bidwellac, are you using the Standard or the Advanced payroll within QuickBooks?
Currently, it's only possible to cease the scheme using the Advanced payroll, and customers using the Standard payroll would need to inform HMRC of this using the free Basic Tools software. 👩💻
If you have Advanced payroll how do you close a PAYE scheme - I am not seeing it, apologies in advance if it is obvious!
Hi there, @accounts-gb.
I appreciate you joining the thread and confirming your QuickBooks Online Payroll version.
Since you're using the Advanced payroll, I recommend contacting our Payroll Support Team, as they have the specific tools to pull up your account in a secure account. Also, they can perform a screen sharing session to help guide you in closing the PAYE scheme.
To reach them, click the ? Help button at the top-right corner and select Contact Us to talk with a live agent. Or fill out this form to chat with an expert. Ensure to review their support hours to know when agents are available.
To help you manage payroll settings, employees, process payroll, and reports, here's our QuickBooks Online Advanced Payroll hub you can check.
Please don't hesitate to reply if you have other payroll questions. I'll be around for you. Take care and have a great day ahead.
