I want to customise a sales receipt to use for receipts of donations to my charity. I have managed to rename the template Donation Receipt but my problem is that the words 'Invoice to' still appear above the customer's name and address. Obviously the company donor does not want the words invoice on the form.
Can this be fixed, and if so how please.
Alternatively, can I start from scratch to make a donation receipt?
Thank you.
QuickBooks Online doesn’t provide a blank page to create a donation receipt from scratch. Instead, you can use the Custom Form Styles tool to start with a fresh version of a standard form and modify the parts that the system allows you to edit.
Please note that the Invoice to label stays the same as it is permanently built for the transaction used. Rest assured that this won’t affect the recording and that the Donation Receipt will still reflect its purpose.
Alternatively, if you prefer a simpler approach, you can record it as a Bank Deposit instead since it doesn't have those fixed labels. By doing this, go to the + Create > Bank Deposit, then fill out the necessary details.
In the Description field, you can simply type Donation or any other specific details you’d like to include. Then, if the donor would like a receipt, you can easily print one for them directly from that record.

Thank you LouiseG,
Unfortunately my donor insists that the word Invoice does not appear anywhere as his accountant will not accept it. I have now been playing with Estimate template which allows changes that sales receipt does not. It is a shame that Quickbooks does not facilitate creation of your own template or full adaptation of another. I appreciate your advice.

We recognize how removing the INVOICE TO in the sales receipt would streamline your workflow. Although this isn't currently a feature in QuickBooks Online, please submit your feedback directly to our engineers to help us prioritize this for future updates.
