Is there any update on when patches will be available so that QB can run on Mac OS Sonoma?
Which year version do you have? As far as I know, until this morning they have released the patch for QBD 2021-2023. Users also report that they can run QBD 2024 on Sonoma.
2019
QBD 2019 is outdated. I am not sure they will release any patch for it. You can wait until next week to make sure. Ultimately you may want to consider using the trial version of QBD 2023 to have time to consider your options later.
It's great to have you here with us today, WasherGuy. I've got insights to share about the MacOS Sonoma for QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Mac.
Currently, Intuit is working to deliver compatibility patches for all of our supported (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024) versions of QuickBooks for Mac as soon as possible. We want you to have a seamless experience once these patches are available so you can efficiently navigate and manage your account.
Since you're using the QBDT 2019 version, we recommend downgrading your OS to continue using QBDT Mac smoothly or upgrading your desktop file to the latest version.

I understand that 2019 is an older version. That said it has performed flawlessly and myself and many others continue to rely on it. Many of us small business owners like QB 2019 for its reliability and the fact that there are no ongoing subscription fees. Upgrading will force us to either pay Quickbooks subscriber fees or go in search of other options.
I will wait until early next week to see if a patch comes through. I strongly urge the Quckbooks team to please update the software for the 2019 version.
Myself and many other small business owners have relied on QB 2019 which up until now has performed flawlessly. The suggested solutions force us into a subscriber model that will cost us every year.
I strongly urge the Quickbooks team to patch QB Desktop for Mac 2019 so it can operate with the Sonoma Mac OS.
The suggested solutions force us into a subscriber model that will cost us every year.
Last resort, if you don't mind to use the trial version of QB Desktop Windows, you can use it for good on Parallels.
Help! I'm in the same boat as others regarding QB and Mac Sonoma. I have 2020 and can't open the Home page. It keeps crashing! How can I override it?

Will there be any updates for QB 2020?
Apple has released Sonoma 14.1 a few days ago. Try updating your MacOS.
A BIG Thank you for joining the conversation, felyne.
A patch has been released to address the compatibility problem with Mc OS Sonoma. The users will only need to update QuickBooks. However, it is important to note that this patch is only for the supported versions from 2021 to 2024. You can consider 4Gal's suggestion..
Let me know if yo have other questions in mind. Take care and have a good one!
Why was no patch created for Quickbooks for Mac 2020? This software is less than 3 years old. The compatibility problem should not be the fault of the consumer.
QBD 2020 has been outdated since last May and they will not release any more patches. You can run QBD 2020 on Sonoma 4.1 currently but your QB may crash again once Apple releases a newer update for Sonoma..If that happens, you can use a workaround to continue running QBD on your Mac. You can check the following reference for discontinuation of QBD 2021 to understand their 3-years policy.
Can I buy a copy of Quickbooks 2022 or 2023 without a yearly renewal? I have a very small business with only 10-15 transactions per month. That being the case, $550 per year is unreasonable for me to pay.
If you don't have a solution for me, I will probably stop using the product. Obviously, smaller customers are no longer part of your business model.
Contact me in private and we can share a few option to run QB on your Mac.
Hi sfeld,
Welcome, and thank you for expressing your sentiments on the pricing structure of QuickBooks Desktop products. I understand your concern about it and how it may not fit the needs of your business.
Know QuickBooks Desktop now on a subscription-based model with a yearly renewal. As a result, there is no longer an option for a desktop version that doesn't require yearly renewal. Additionally, QuickBooks 2022 will soon become obsolete, so I cannot recommend this for you.
We also the the QuickBooks Online modes that you can as a alternative. Please check out the list of plans and their features: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/pricing/.
If you have other concerns, please don't hesitate to go back to this thread. Take care and have a good one!
