Unable to access multiple key functions in quickbooks to complete basic tasks!

Not sure exactly when this started but it has become so frustrating that QBO has become almost unusable. 

Everytime I click on a and action that requires a new window to open within the main window (examples below) nothing happens, if I click the refresh in my browser I get the green dots and then the requested window pops up most time but this is causing major delays and wasted productivity.

Initially I thought it was some sort of browser compatibility issue but I have tried on multiple OS systems and multiple browsers but keep seeing the exact same problem.  I have to refresh quickbooks dozens of times a day.

Here are some examples of links that are not working within QBO

  • Expense Page -pay bills button
  • Reports Page - electing a transaction
  • Invoices - create invoice

Honestly it's every single page that requires a secondary window within the app, need to figure this out or find another option because the product has become unusable with all these glitches

You can perform some troubleshooting steps to isolate the issue, @Jon STK

 

If you haven't yet, try to power down and restart your mobile device. Then, install the app again afterward. I have here some additional steps you can perform to isolate this behavior.

 

First, change the data connection on your device. If you're connected to Wi-Fi, turn it off and use cellular data and vice versa. Then try opening QuickBooks again. If the same thing happens, you can close and restart the application. Or, clear the app's data. 

 

Here's how:

 

  1. From your device's Settings, select Apps (varies by device).
  2. Choose the QuickBooks app from the list.
  3. Select Storage.
  4. Finally, tap on clear data.

 

Also, please take note of the system requirements of the app to make sure it works smoothly. Here's an article where you can see the list: QuickBooks Online Access For Mobile Devices.

The problem is not on a mobile device slo none of this information applies.  As I explained in my post it's not a matter of resetting the device because it is happening on all devices, I have two different PC's I use to access quickbooks and one Mac device.  I also use two different networks and one of the PC's is connected via ethernet so it's clearly not the connection causing the issues.  In addition this has been going on for more then a months time.

Within the PC I have tried dozens of times to completely close out of QBO and log back in and that has done nothing to fix the problem, it is constant.

Hello there, Jon STK. I appreciate the steps you've taken. I'll share another option to fix the issue.

 

This can be a browser's cache problem. Over time files can become outdated, causing issues like being unable to access multiple keys. You can use an incognito or a private window:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

 

If you're able to do so, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. This way, the system can start fresh again. Alternatively, you can use a different supported web engine.

Unable to access multiple key functions in quickbooks to complete basic tasks!

I have now tried both option (private/incognito mode) and clearing the cache, neither option has changed my problems using QBO on Safari or Chrome.

After relaunching QBO the first time I click on an option like add expense or pay bill the form opens normally but after initial time none of these options work directly.  I have to constantly refresh the browser just to use my QBO which is incredibly inefficient.

I feel like the options I am getting are the classic restart, clear the cache, generic solutions for everything.  

Any chance someone out there has seen this actual problem?
